San Antonio Police Chief William McManus announced Saturday that authorities will be searching a landfill for the body of missing baby Gabriel Johnson. Police stated they would be searching the landfill as soon as weather allows.

Gabriel Johnson was last seen with his 23-year-old mother, Elizabeth Johnson, in San Antonio, TX on December 26, 2009. Johnson, from Arizona, was arrested and charged with kidnapping, child abuse and custodial interference on December 30 in Florida. By police investigating Gabriel's case as a kidnapping and homicide the authorities can search for the body.

McManus scheduled a press conference for Tuesday morning to deliver an update on the case but no details have been made at this point. Regarding the landfill search, McManus said they have been planning to search the site for "a long time" but "logistics make it hard." He continued,  "we've been working with contractors, and worrying about toxic runoff associated with landfills. And, the weather hasn't been cooperating. We're expecting more rain in the next couple days."

On Saturday, Gabriel's father, Logan McQueary said, "we think Gabriel is out there and alive."
