Gabrielle Giffords to Watch Shuttle Launch

After 15 weeks of physical therapy, Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords has been cleared by her doctors to watch her husband Mark Kelly launch into space aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavor on April 29.

Gabrielle Giffords, who was shot in the head on January 8 in Tuscon, has been steadily recovering ever since.

Shielded from paparazzi at a medical clinic in Houston, Gabrielle Giffords can speak in short phrases and walk with difficulty. She now writes with her left hand.Since Giffords has had part of her skull removed, she will have to wear a protective helmet when she travels to Cape Canaveral.
