a tragic story of vietnamese injustice

Gary Glitter, currently doing time in a Vietnamese prison for molesting kids, is due for release later this month. I imagine he'll try to leave Vietname immediately, though there's no indication where he'll go. Cambodia's out of the question, since he's barred from entering. Come to think of it, the UK's probably not a great idea, either, but that's just my opinion.

The disgraced British star was convicted in March 2006 for molesting two girls aged 11 and 12.

Chu Xuan Mau, an official at the jail, told the Agence France Presse (AFP) news agency that the former glam rocker would be let out on 19 August.

Glitter is set to be freed on August 19th under a local tradition to commute prisoners' sentences to mark the Lunar New Year.
