One of the two bombs that failed to go off in London earlier this year was discovered by a nightclub owner after he smelled gas, and discovered the car parked outside his packed venue.
A NIGHT CLUB boss yesterday told how the smell of gas tipped him off to a car bomb outside his packed venue.
Bruce Beattie, of Tiger Tiger in London's Piccadilly, said he then spotted white vapour streaming around the inside of a Mercedes.
He told Woolwich Crown Court: "We looked in the back of the car and could just see blankets in the back seat. It was at that point that we thought it wasn't safe."
The jury were shown chilling CCTV footage of two devices being planted in the area.
Both failed to detonate.
