This duel started at 8am Tuesday at the stations located at FM 529 and Eldridge. We watched the price at the Shell station go down a cent from $2.30 a gallon to $2.29 a gallon.

Minutes later just across the street the price at the Chevron station went down to $2.28. It's turning into a contest of can you top this?

As of 10pm, one station was at $2.16 a gallon, the other $2.17. There was a big line of cars waiting to get into the fueling stations. For hours people sat in their hot cars all for cheap gas.

"We don't even live on this side of town," said one man.
