The gay male escort hired to accompany Family Research Council co-founder and NARTH board member George Alan Rekers has told Miami New Times  that  Rekers  is a homosexual who paid him to provide  sexual services during their ten-day vacation in Europe.

See details at Miami New Times

The 20-year-old escort who goes by his working name of Lucien, contradicts Rekers's contentions that he hired the escort to help carry his luggage and that he was trying to save the soul of a lost sinner.

Although Rekers does have medical problems which makes it difficult for him to carry luggage, this is not the only service  the escort was providing.

"It's a situation where he's going against homosexuality when he is a homosexual," Lucien says. (When New Times called seeking comment, Rekers had turned his phone off. An email was not returned. He has termed the New Times article "slanderous" on his website.)

Miami New Times conducted the interview with Lucien late last night in his Fort Lauderdale townhome.    Since the story broke,  the youth has been flooded with uninvited guests.

His trip with Reker's has gained global media attention and has been the subject of spoofs by Jay Leno and Comedy Central's Stephen Colbert.

Lucien had originally declined to comment on the breaking news story until a close friend   alerted him to the depth and scope  of his client's anti-gay activities.   He now believes he is doing no good by aiding and abetting his client's hypocrisy.

Rekers, a board member at the National Association for Research & Therapy of Homosexuality (NARTH) and cofounder of the Family Research Council,  has attempted to claim that he took the gay escort on his trip in order to conduct "ex-gay" therapy, and turn him from the error of his lifestyle.

Says Lucien: "In all honesty, he should disassociate himself from these [anti-gay] groups."

New Times will update the public with stories detailing the trip, the document Rekers asked Lucien to prepare in the hopes of preventing any future disclosures, and an indepth character study of the young gay male who has told his story during what must in retrospect be a painful encounter with the hypocrisy of the anti-gay movement.

Well did they kiss at least? Did they engage in gay sex? Come on! We wanna know! MINCHIA!

It is too gruesome to tell.

I'll just bet. Ha ha!

This actully wouldn't suprise me. It seems to be a trend afterall. Didn't some politician recently get caught in the same way.

Also, the best way to keep attention away from some facet of your being is to campaign against it etc.

Yes, Grace, this type of thing is getting old,  and really discredits the anti-gay movements...

This is not a trend. It's been going on since time and memorial. If say 10 percent of the population is gay then it's safe to assume that 10 percent of the clergy, religious leaders, etc. are gay. Perhaps more so because they tend to stay in the closet lest they offend the sensibilities of their flock and look like hypocrites. Of course the percentage is and has been much higher among Catholic priests. But priests aren't wrapped as tight as some of the main stream Protestant religious leaders. Many Catholic priests like to have a good time: Drink, smoke, play cards, diddle whatever is available, and then confess their sins. Confessionals are not part of the Protestant ethic.

Well, we KNOW that Rory.  Just look at the Catholic Church.  But really, if NARTH wants to maintain its credibility, it should use a little discretion....

You didn't let me finish. JEEZ! I edited my comment to be all inclusive . . .well at least all inclusive as it pertains to Christian religions. Credibility? What's that? Ha!

NARTH has credibility? Heaven help us. Only if one has had a lobotomy performed. lol.

Looks like the chickens have come home to roost and some feathers certainly have been ruffled.

Yes,  and this is what that man deserves,  for being absurd enough to dedicate his life to disparaging gays, and then hiring a gay escort to be his companion on a trip.

Will there be an update this story, Susan? :)

Sure, I know you cannot wait to hear the details, Rory....

1
Rory Cripps

Yeah! I tried pasting some details here from one of your links but access was denied. Go figure.

Rekers allegedly named his favorite maneuver the "long stroke" -- a complicated caress "across his penis, thigh... and his anus over the butt cheeks," as the escort puts it. "Rekers liked to be rubbed down there," he says.

I need to hold hands with a bartender now. ;)

So much for "helping the youth turn from the error of his ways".  grrrrrrrr

I think they really want to be outed. There's no other explanation for it.

I agree. Its quite possible. At some point the coping mechanism that is outright denial and reversive action will fail. Herein, is the resultant: ironic revelation.

Huh, I didn't realize you could use sodomy to cure homosexuality!  That explains EVERYTHING!
