Gay military spouse treated inferior and cheap pastor

Issues in the news.

The question of homosexuality in the Boy Scouts is news, with the Boy Scouts maybe changing their policy on banning gays in the Boy Scouts. Well, Jennifer Tyrrell is a lesbian and proud parent of a Tiger Scout ( a younger group of Boy Scouts) member. She was forced out of being a Den Mother. This woman who cares deeply about her child wasn't considered moral enough to head be a Den Leader. In fact, she was too good for them.

Staff Sergeant Donna Johnson was the married spouse of Tracy Joe Dice. Johnson died serving her nation overseas and was killed in a bombing. Since her marriage was not legally recognized by the federal government and the U.S. military, she was not informed by the government, but by her loving in-laws.

She was originally denied the ability to see the return of Johnson's body from overseas. She is not recognized as someone who was married to Donna Johnson by our government, because our government continues to recognize the bigotry of the so called Defense of Marriage Act. This discrimination must end, now.

There are strong hints that President Obama will include same sex spouses in immigration reform. Good, for too long they have been denied equality. A spouse is denied residency/green card in the U.S., because they are in a same sex marriage with a U.S. citizen. Just one of the many ways gays are treated unequally under the law.

Finally, an Applebees employee put on Facebook, a restauarnt bill where a pastor named Alois Bell of Truth in the World Deliverance Ministries Church crossed out the tip amount and gave zero, writing that, "I give God 10%, why do you get 18%." She didn't include the name of Bell, but that was figured out by others on the internet. The Applebees employee was not the server of the cheapskate Bell. Bell complained when others found out what a cheapskate she is in fact, and got the server fired. Actually, she wanted everyone working there fired. First of all, as a pastor, she is skimming off what her congreation is giving to god.

That 10% to god isn't going up to the big guy in the sky but to pay Bell's bills and the cost of running the church. I don't know if this church helps feed the hungry, which would be good of course, but obviously Bell gets paid by others giving to this alleged god. Also, to paraphrase the late and great George Carlin, why is this god so bad with money? Always asking for money.

Does this Pastor Bell realize that a waitress doesn't make regular minimum wage and most of their income comes from tips? This case reminds me of a group of Church goers who on Easter told a server they wouldn't be tipping her because they don't believe people should be working on Easter/Sunday. Well, they wouldn't have been if not for them! Why is it that so many on the devoutly religious so cheap when it comes to their fellow men? Do they have such disdain against those who labor for a living? It seems so. By the way, I won't be eating Applees ever again.
