Trucks carrying relief aid continued moving into the Gaza Strip today, at the same time as Israeli military officials stated they would continue attacking targets within the strip.

The UN says the 50 trucks carrying humanitarian aid aren't nearly enough to alleviate the worsening humanitarian situation.

NowPublic has a channel set up to monitor ongoing news from Gaza.

Israel has launched intense air raids against key targets on the Gaza Strip in what it said was a response to the escalation of rocket attacks from inside Gaza.
Israeli warplanes struck by air-to-ground rockets early on Monday several buildings into the Islamic University of Gaza, 300 Palestinians were killed and over 1000 wounded during unprecedented intensive Israeli airstrikes started on saturday.
Israeli military sources said 50 trucks carrying humanitarian aid crossed into Gaza on Monday through the Kerem Shalom border crossing and more are expected to cross later in the day.

"We had about 40 trucks yesterday, we hope [to have] about 100 today," said Karen AbuZayd, the commissioner-general of the U.N. Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA).

Top Israeli officials have vowed to continue attacks on militant group Hamas, as Israeli air strikes pounded the Gaza Strip for a third day.

Israel was fighting a "war to the bitter end" against Hamas, its defence chief said. A top army official said no Hamas buildings would be left standing.

International Reaction

Pope Benedict XVI called on all sides to urge the violence in Israel on Sunday, while leaders of the Arab world met to discuss the crisis.

A statement released by Iran's Foreign Ministry on Monday said "Mottaki in his telephone conversation with UN, OIC, and Arab League secretary generals sought utmost efforts from regional and international organizations and institutions to condemn the Zionist regime's raid (on Gaza) and to stop it from further crime."
Pope Benedict XVI on Sunday decried the "endless" bloodshed in the Holy Land and urged all sides to end violence as Israel continued its deadly assault on Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip.

Good Post and some great links to get more information on those events. Thank you.

I found this thumbnail image at the bottom of the press article about the events in Gaza strip and decided to turn it into my personal visual comment.

The stupidity of power politics is just beyond any human belief. Who are these wretched mechanised androids, who solve problems by a push of a button? It appears that the world, slowly and gradually, is moving backwards... just a thought to end another year of this new, wonderful millennium.

the picture of Palestinian carrying dead girl was actually taken last year or begining this year (I don't remember exactly when) when Israelite attacked Lebanon. Both of old man and dead girl were Lebanon instead of Palestinian.  Nothing with current event in Gaza.

I didn't think that photo was from Gaza. The man's clothing was not common to Gaza.

The photos I uploaded were sent to me in an email today from Israel through a French server.

Okay...seeing the kids become collateral damage is TERRIBLE, but where's the outrage for the 14 children killed earlier in Afghanistan by a bomb launched BY Muslims AGAINST Muslims. (How does THAT even make any sense?!...)

Terrorists indiscriminately kill people...seemingly pretty much anybody. They've been igniting bomb ordinance, launching mortar and missile rounds, and sending millions of bullets into crowds everywhere.

If the members of the UN would mandate control of their militaries to UN Authority on a global basis, EVERYattack against ANY sovereign state from without OR within, could be handled effectively everywhere.  How much of this does ANY nation have to put up with before those who seem to be more than vicious enough to do these things are caught and/or eliminated.

Frankly, I do not see where religion fits in at all.

Canadian Jewish leaders rallied around Israel Monday.   ..."other countries can defend their borders with little or no United Nations scrutiny, but the UN always jumps on Israel when it does so." ...

The UN should have been sending in humanitarian aid BEFORE the conflict worsened. The Palestinians have not even had access to clean water all the time and the sewage from their camps has been flowing out to sea.

What happened to the early days of Israel's birth when they lived side by side with the Palestinians as neighbors?

The UN can not send Peace keeper if Israel and the Veto Power USA wont allow it.

Although Hamas suicide bombings claimed the lives of at least 300 innocent Israelis - roughly the number of "policemen" Israel has killed thus far in its military campaign - the bloodthirsty Zionists never induced a wave of Jewish youngsters to strap on explosives and hug Palestinian children riding public transportation. This disproportionate warfare manifests itself in every aspect of the war:

US and European people pay tax and their governments give it to Israel to kill women and innocent children. Hamas was selected with Palestine nation vote. Why Israel surrounds Gaza and don't let wounded persons receive food and drug? Isn't Israel a occupier?? Isn't this an unfair war? Who has equipped Israel with F16 fighter plane?
I think Democracy and Human right is a big lie in West.
