Happy 4th of July for those in the US!
I have fallen behind with pictures, this one is from April and I am just getting to it now. We walked around northern Manhattan to the GW bridge, got some food and drinks while waiting for dusk. If I remember correctly it was a bit cold this night. It’s pretty obvious that I love to take pictures at dusk, there is something about that fleeting moment when the sky and the ground are emitting the same amount of light. In this one the road decks really made a great reflection off the river!
The George Washington Bridge pictured here carries 14 lanes of traffic including I-95, the bridge links New Jersey to New York City, it is the only bridge between NJ and NYC across the Hudson River. The other two car crossings of the Hudson River from NJ to NYC are tunnels. According to Wikipedia and corroborated by my own accounts, “The speed limit on the bridge is 45 mph (70 km/h), though heavy traffic is common and frequently makes it difficult to reach such speeds.”
