George Huguely's Hearing Has Been Moved From June 10 to October 7

George Huguely is charged with the murder of fellow University of Virginia lacrosse player Yeardley Love, and his preliminary hearing was set for June 10 in Chartlottesville District Court. It has now been delayed until October 7 and Huguely will remain in jail until that time.

The reason for the delay is not known.

The exact cause of Yeardley Love's death has not been released but George Huguely has admitted that after an 'altercation' with Love on the night of May 2 he kicked Love's bedroom door and then shook her and hit her head against the wall repeatedly.

Huguely's lawyer maintains his previous statement that Love's death was not intentional, but was an 'accident with a tragic outcome'.

Huguely withdrew from the university. Like Love, he had been a senior and like her, a member of the university's nationally ranked lacrosse teams.

More news about the accused has been uncovered since Huguely's arrest, and friends have since described him as 'chivalrous' one moment and 'savage' the next. He also drank often and that did lead to violence before.

"Every time I see Yeardley's face on a magazine, I want to die. None of us can believe this actually happened. It doesn't click. It doesn't jibe. It doesn't work," said one family friend. "The George we knew wasn't capable of that. There had to be a different George that was inside that head."
