George Bush admits to needing to leave Iraq. The mainstream media is protraying this as some kind of joke by sandwiching him into a David Letterman routine. I just want you folks to ask yourself this? .....Is this something really to be joking about or trying to make the public believe it's some comedy act ?
Afterall 4,000 USA troops have be killed, and thousands of innocent Iraqis. Nothing to be joking about I think. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsQxC3AhSjw&NR=1 He made no slip of the tongue. His slip of the tongue was when he tried to disclaim he said it. In fact it makes David Lettermans Show look like a Joke instead. Shame on you David.

Rev. will be watching to see "IF" this subject catches fire... don't think so, no traction with this subject! On one of your posts under Paschen's direction I recall you saying that Henry Ford was a Nazi sympathizer (recall)? Your attacks on Pres. G.W. Bush, while passing on his father aside from being an expert on facial recognition (and, regardless, of my own views and beliefs)... why haven'y you torn into the grandfather Prescott Bush, along with all your diatribe of blame?
Remember the rumors about the alleged Nazi "ties" of the late Prescott Bush, that have circulated widely through the Internet in recent years. These charges are untenable and politically motivated. Despite some early financial dealings between Prescott Bush and a Nazi industrialist named Fritz Thyssen (who was arrested by the Nazi regime in 1938 and imprisoned during the war), Prescott Bush was neither a Nazi nor a Nazi sympathizer.
It's called capitalism... although I understand your communist roots and the country you reside in... a wonderful human rights track record for as long as time records... yet, you ONLY attack the USA! And to think your an American is disgraceful! Repect the enemies of your nation, spit on the flag... you ONLY disgrace yourself!

In what way does BallyZACA's comment violate the code of conduct?
at 06:59 on August 22nd, 2008
With all due respect, Mr. Zaca, Henry Ford's friendship with Adolph Hitler, and indeed the mutual admiration each had for the other is quite well documented ... some go so far as to suggest, again backed up with documentation, that Hitler got some of his core 'operating principals' from the American industrialist.
If one might care to look into this, a good starting point would be a recently published NP article on this topic ...

Frankly, if that's all the evidence you need then FDR was a Nazi. So were tons of people in the 1930s. The fascist regimes in Germany and Italy were widely respected in the US and the Germans and the Italians respected a lot of the things the US government was doing at the time.
And since we're giving free advice about what others should read I would suggest a book called Liberal Fascism. It's an interesting read, haven't finished yet myself, but it goes into details about the mutual admiration of the fascists and our government during the pre-WWII era and other eras as well.
at 17:19 on August 22nd, 2008
Mr. T, I think you're replying to my post about Ford which addressed a specific point of hard historical fact, that being Henry Ford was a way big fan of Adolph Hitler, and, although in Mr. Zaca's statement immediately above, which reads, "I recall you saying that Henry Ford was a Nazi sympathizer (recall)?," Mr. Z doesn't mention it, but Hitler felt very much the same way towards Ford ...
Mr. Zaca's statement seemed to imply he perhaps doubted Ford's historical status as a fan of Hitler, and so I pointed out a reference which would clarify that specific issue and remove any doubt. Of course, I don't think it had that effect, since soon afterward Mr. Z began casting about various aspersions of a racial nature, and sounding very much as if he were himself a closet Fascist. Of course, I dwell on the obvious and so will now make my point.
Which simply is that I referred to a specific point of historical fact to clarify the discussion, and it appears you feel justified by that to advise both myself and other posters to give themselves a lesson in political philosophy by reading the book you recommend.
This may make sense to you but it doesn't make any to me.
at 18:09 on August 22nd, 2008
My leading point was that a lot of Americans looked to fascists from Germany and Italy as a model before WWII. I agree that Ford had fascist leanings but do did FDR and many other of the age. There really wasn't that much of a difference between the economic and social policies of Mussolini, Hitler, and FDR.
For example, from the book Liberal Fascism, we find that the fascists called for an eight-hour workday, a minimum wage, reform of the pension system, secular schools, and "the 'review' of all military contracts and the 'sequestration of 85% of all war profits.'" - Liberal Fascism, Jonah Goldberg, pg. 46.
My point is that there were a lot of overlapping policy points where Americans and Nazis and Italian fascists agreed on. Many people at that time were taken in by the fascist movement just like many people were taken in by the Soviet movement. In fact, the Nazi's official newspaper lauded FDR with much praise and so did Mussolini. But the kicker, I think, is when FDR sent a letter to Mussolini:
I'm not sure where this whole discussion started, it sounds like it may have started on another thread. I'm not sure. My point is that just because someone admired fascist countries and their leaders doesn't mean they were bad people. Ford, an anti-Semite, shared a racial viewpoint that many people of his age and many people today share. I don't share it myself but I think you have to judge a person on their whole body of work.
FDR admired Hitler and Mussolini but that doesn't, to me, mean that he was a bad person. I do strongly disagree with his policies but I don't think he was a bad guy. When I read your previous comment I just got the feeling that you implied that if someone admired fascists they were bad or evil in some way. My point here was just to disagree and make my own point that you could have admired Hitler and Mussolini before WWII and still be considered a decent person. Now, if Ford kept on liking Hitler after the Holocaust was found out that would be another story.
at 18:20 on August 22nd, 2008
And I'm not quite sure how you're in the position to call BallyZACA a "closet Fascist." Fascism isn't about hatred against a race (Nazism was but the Italian fascists had many Jews in their government) it's a political/economic system of governance.
at 19:48 on August 22nd, 2008
I'm far from a political expert, so I went and looked up the term. Wikipedia says this about fascism.
Source: en.wikipedia.org
If one hits the link they will find a few references on which the quote is based, and may decide to look into them - I did not ...
In reference to the person who made a point of insulting my own racial heritage, I used the term in the way described as follows by George Orwell.
Source: en.wikipedia.org
Drawing attention to someone's parentage in making one's point seems to me quite disingenuous, mean-spirited, and rather stupid - absolutely something a bully might choose to do if he felt perhaps a need to even the score for having been corrected on what these days amounts to a rather minor historical point.
Mr. Henry Ford is now long gone, and there are much bigger fish to fry these days. Ones who are proving themselves to be, if not outright Fascists, then certainly very big bullies. How else would you describe an administration that has forced a policy of preemptive warmaking down the throats of the American people and of the entire world ?
As always, I find myself asking, 'Whats next?' Forcing us all to take a rather uncomfortable train ride and then nice 10 minute showers upon arrival at our destination ?
Really, now - isn't that something a big bully might enjoy doing to somebody?

Mr. Bally, I am not about catching anything on fire. The fire was lit on Sept 11, 2001, and its still burning out of control. This is not going to go away. It has only just begun. Perhaps your an American is disgraceful! Repect the enemies of your nation, spit on the flag... you ONLY disgrace yourself! attacks should be directed at the horses mouth.
And since you mention Prescott Bush, here is the following You-tube from a 35 year old in the business Reporter on the topic. Perhaps you should inquire your misguided thoughts to him instead. It's not I who said or did these things. I am reporting the facts and the news.

Gen. Decay -- There is nothing insulting in my statements that would constitute any code of conduct. That is, unless, your attempting to place your own code of participation over the entire board. The use of the words like "disgraceful" (used against Clinton) or, phrases like "you should be ashamed of yourself" (used by Reagan in debate with Jimmy Carter) are not personal attacks. Suit yourself as to YOUR understanding of what's considered personal! Critize, you bet... statements that are false, and designed to cast aspersions on others "free" thoughts and expressions of self. It called "freedom of speech."

Your comments are not civil, and they are hostile and rude. Furthermore, they are focusing on the individuals in the discussion rather than the ideas presented.
This comment to djermano is another illustration of this.
While the code of conduct can be interpreted in many ways, and is quite subjective, rudeness and hostility are rather universally recognisable.

Prescott S. Bush and the UBC
In that context, LaRouche reminded Rumsfeld that the current President's own grandfather Prescott S. Bush was a director of the Union Banking Corporation, an asset of German steel cartel boss Fritz Thyssen, who proudly admitted that he was Adolf Hitler's earliest and biggest financial backer, in his book I Paid Hitler (1941). From 1924-1942, the UBC was the New York City bank holding company for all of Thyssen's U.S. corporate operations. The arrangement was made with Thyssen by W. Averell Harriman, and several Brown Brothers Harriman directors, including Roland Harriman and Prescott Bush, were directors and shareholders of UBC, even after Hitler took power in Germany and invaded Eastern Europe. Bush remained a managing director of UBC right up to the moment that the U.S. government moved to shut the bank down.
http://www.thepeoplesvoice.org/cgi-bin/blogs/voices.php/2006/09/06/p10576
On Oct. 20, 1942, under the Trading with the Enemy Act, the U.S. Congress seized all of the assets of the Union Banking Corporation of 39 Broadway, New York, New York. The seizure was approved by Leo T. Crowly, the U.S. Alien Property Custodian. By the end of October 1942, the U.S. Congress had seized a total of four Thyssen entities-all run through the UBC. The other seized entities were: Hamburg-American Line, Holland-American Trading Corp., and Seamless Steel Equipment Corp. Far from being shell companies, these entities were involved in supplying crucial materiel to Nazi Germany. U.S. Congressional hearings at the close of World War II revealed that the United Steel Works Corporation of Thyssen, which was interlocked with UBC, had been the main supplier of steel, iron, and explosives for the Nazi war machine ("Elimination of German Resources for War," hearings before a Subcommittee of the Committee on Military Affairs, United States Senate, July 2, 1945).

Prescott Sheldon Bush was born in Columbus, Ohio, on 15th May, 1895. Like his grandfather, James Smith Bush, he went to Yale University in 1913. While at university he became a member of the Skull and Bones Secret Society. A fellow member was E. Roland Harriman, the younger brother of W. Averell Harriman.
His father, Samuel Prescott Bush became General Manager of Buckeye Steel Castings Company, which manufactured railway parts, in 1901. The company was run by Frank Rockefeller, the brother of oil magnate John D. Rockefeller, and among its clients were the railroads controlled by E. H. Harriman. In 1908 Rockefeller retired and Bush became President of Buckeye. Samuel Prescott Bush was also closely associated with Samuel Pryor, who, along with the Rockefellers, controlled the Remington Arms Company. During the First World War, Clarence Dillion, a senior figure at the War Industries Board, arranged for Bush, to become chief of the Ordnance Small Arms and Ammunition Section of the WIB. This involved giving out contracts to supply arms and ammunition to the United States Army. Over half of the small-arms ammunition and 69% of the rifles used by the United States in the war were supplied by Remington. On 8th August, 1918, the Ohio State Journal reported that Prescott Bush had been awarded the "cross of the Legion of Honor, the Victoria Cross and the Distinguished Service Cross." The report added; "The incident occurred on the western front about the time the Germans were launching their great offensive of July 15... The history of the remarkable victory scored later by the allies might have been written in another vein, but for the heroic and quick action of Captain Bush." Apparently, this information came from his mother Flora Bush. In fact, at this time, Bush had yet to see action on the Western Front. A month later the Ohio State Journal had to report that it was a victim of a hoax. His mother wrote to the paper and apologized for providing this false information. She claimed that she had been fooled by a letter she had received from her son that had been "written in a spirit of fun". In 1919 Bush was introduced by W. Averell Harriman to his business partner, George Herbert Walker. Later that year, Bush was introduced to Walker's daughter, Dorothy. The couple married in August, 1921. Bush and his new wife moved to Columbus, Ohio, and went to work for his father's family business. In 1926, Bush's father-in-law, appointed him vice-president of W. A. Harriman & Company. This company had made considerable investments in Germany. At the end of the war, the commercial steamships of Hamburg-Amerika were confiscated by the United States government. As the authors of George Bush: The Unauthorized Biography have pointed out: "These ships had then become the property of the Harriman enterprise, by some arrangements with the U.S. authorities that were never made public." In doing so, Harriman created the world's largest private shipping line. Samuel Pryor, the chairman of Remington Arms, and George Herbert Walker, both became directors of the American Ship and Commerce Company, Harriman's shipping front organization. Walker and Harriman set up their European headquarters in Berlin. With the help of the Warburg Bank, W. A. Harriman began to invest heavily in German industry. In 1926 Prescott Bush became vice president of W. A. Harriman & Company. Soon afterwards the company expanded into the Soviet Union. After negotiations with Leon Trotsky and Felix Dzerzhinsky, Harriman obtained a contract to mine manganese. In 1927 the company was criticized for its support of totalitarian governments in Italy and the Soviet Union. George Herbert Walker wrote to W. Averell Harriman pointing out that "the suggestion... that we withdraw from Russia smacks some what of the impertinent.. I think that we have drawn our line and should hew to it" (11th August, 1927). W. Averell Harriman also formed a partnership with the German industrialist, Fritz Thyssen. In 1926 Harriman and Clarence Dillon of Dillon Read Company helped Thyssen and Friedrich Flick to establish the German Steel Trust. According to Anton Chaitkin: "The Flick-Harriman partnership was directly supervised by Prescott Bush". Dillon Read provided two representatives to the board of the German Steel Trust and took responsibility for its corporate banking. In 1928 Thyssen formed United Steelworks, a company that controlled more that 75 per cent of Germany's ore reserves and employed 200,000 people. Thyssen started a joint-venture with Harriman called the Union Banking Corporation. This was used to transfer funds between the United States and Germany. In 1931 W.A. Harriman & Company merged with the British-American banking house Brown Brothers. Prescott Bush, along with W. Averell Harriman, E. Roland Harriman and George Herbert Walker, became managing partners in the new company, Brown Brothers Harriman. This was to develop into the most important private banking house in America. Prescott Bush was appointed as a director of the Harriman Fifteen Corporation. This in turn controlled the Consolidated Silesian Steel Corporation, that owned one-third of a complex of steel-making, coal-mining and zinc-mining activities in Germany and Poland. Friedrich Flick owned the other two-thirds of the operation. Flick was a leading financial supporter of the Nazi Party and in the 1930s donated over seven million marks to the party. A close friend of Heinrich Himmler, Flick also gave the Schutz Staffeinel (SS) 10,000 marks a year. Fritz Thyssen was also one of the leading backers of the Nazi Party. In 1931 he recruited Hjalmar Schacht to the cause and in November, 1932, the two men joined with other industrialists in signing the letter that urged Paul von Hindenburg to appoint Adolf Hitler as chancellor. This was successful and on 20th February, 1933, they arranged a meeting of the Association of German Industrialists that raised 3 million marks for the Nazi Party in the forthcoming election. On 27th February, 1933, someone set fire to the Reichstag. Several people were arrested including a leading, Georgi Dimitrov, general secretary of the Comintern, the international communist organization. Dimitrov was eventually acquitted but a young man from the Netherlands, Marianus van der Lubbe, was eventually executed for the crime. As a teenager Lubbe had been a communist and Hermann Goering used this information to claim that the Reichstag Fire was part of a KPD plot to overthrow the government. Hitler gave orders that all leaders of the German Communist Party should "be hanged that very night." Paul von Hindenburg vetoed this decision but did agree that Hitler should take "dictatorial powers". KPD candidates in the election were arrested and Hermann Goering announced that the Nazi Party planned "to exterminate" German communists. Thousands of members of the Social Democrat Party and Communist Party were arrested and sent to recently opened to concentration camps. Left-wing election meetings were broken up by the Sturm Abteilung (SA) and several candidates were murdered. Newspapers that supported these political parties were closed down during the 1933 General Election. Although it was extremely difficult for the opposition parties to campaign properly, Hitler and the Nazi party still failed to win an overall victory in the election on 5th March, 1933. The NSDAP received 43.9% of the vote and only 288 seats out of the available 647. The increase in the Nazi vote had mainly come from the Catholic rural areas who feared the possibility of an atheistic Communist government. After the 1933 General Election Hitler proposed an Enabling Bill that would give him dictatorial powers. Such an act needed three-quarters of the members of the Reichstag to vote in its favour. All the active members of the Communist Party, were in concentration camps, in hiding, or had left the country (an estimated 60,000 people left Germany during the first few weeks after the election). This was also true of most of the leaders of the other left-wing party, Social Democrat Party (SDP). However, Hitler still needed the support of the Catholic Centre Party (BVP) to pass this legislation. Hitler therefore offered the BVP a deal: vote for the bill and the Nazi government would guarantee the rights of the Catholic Church. The BVP agreed and when the vote was taken, only 94 members of the SDP voted against the Enabling Bill. Adolf Hitler was now the dictator of Germany. Fritz Thyssen now joined with W. Averell Harriman to establish credit for the new government. He later admitted that he told Hitler's deputy, Rudolph Hess, that he would do this via BHS, a Dutch bank that he had established with Harriman. "I chose a Dutch bank because I did not want to be mixed up with German banks... it was better to business with a Dutch bank, and I thought I would have the Nazis a little more in my hands." Albert Voegler, the chief executive of the German Steel Trust was also a director of BHS Bank in Rotterdam. Voegler was also a director of the Harriman-Bush owned Hamburg-Amerika shipping line. He was another leading financial supporter of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party. Max Warburg was also appointed as a director of Hamburg-Amerika. Warburg wrote to W. Averell Harriman on 27th March, 1933, assuring him that Hitler was good for Germany. However, he was concerned about the "very active propaganda against Germany" that was taking place in the United States. Four days later, the American Jewish Committee, controlled by the Warburgs, issued a statement asking "that no American boycott against Germany be encouraged" and advising "that no further mass meetings be held or similar forms of agitation be employed". In May 1933, the Harriman International Company, became the head of a syndicate of 150 firms and individuals to conduct all exports from Hitler's Germany to the United States. The agreement had been negotiated by John Foster Dulles and Hitler's economic minister, Hjalmar Schacht. Dulles was the international attorney for several Nazi enterprises and in September, 1937, he wrote to Prescott Bush about the German Atlantic Cable Company, that owned Nazi Germany's only telegraph channel to the United States. In 1934 Prescott Bush sent W. Averell Harriman an article that appeared in the 19th March edition of the New York Times. The article claimed that the Polish government intended to take action against the Upper Silesian Coal and Steel Company because it was controlling 45% of its steel production. The newspaper reported that "two-thirds of the company's stock is owned by Friedrich Flick, a leading German steel industrialist, and the remainder is owned by interests in the United States". This of course was Bush, Harriman and Walker. The Polish government complained that the owners of the Upper Silesian Coal and Steel Company were guilty of tax evasion. They were also responsible for using Poland's raw materials to provide for the military needs of Nazi Germany. Prescott Bush's business interests in Germany suffered after the outbreak of the Second World War. On 20th October, 1942, the United States government seized the assets of the Union Banking Corporation. The shares of the bank were owned by Prescott Bush, E. Roland Harriman, and a couple of members of the Nazi Party. Under the Trading with the Enemy Act, the government took over the Union Banking Corporation and the Silesian-American Corporation, a company that had been managed by Prescott Bush and his father-in-law George Herbert Walker.at 08:33 on August 22nd, 2008
Who cares whether Prescott Bush or Henry Ford dealt with Germany or not? One of our greatest heroes, Charles Lindburgh remains a hero even though his early inclination was to admire what Germany was doing in the 1930's.

Well said Joellerose!
And seing as that I entered the name of Prescott Bush into the equation... and note a picture has since been posted of Prescott & GHWB, thereafter... I take this opportunity to submit the name of the ol' Robber Barron himself - J.P. Morgan. Whereas, his bank sold (to the general public) what was commonly, known as, "Hitler Bonds." These bonds were widely circulated as issued by various German corporations, i.e., Light & Power Copanies., Steel Manufacturing Companies, etc. They became illegal to sell once the USA had entered the war, and became worthless afterwards due to the outcome of the war. Today, they are worth far more than their original face value due mainly to the collectors aspect of these bank instruments. Fact is, the German government made a settlement against holders of the bonds a few years ago, even my friend and attorney in Chicago had collected numerous of these bonds from American's who unsuspectingly thought they were worthless.
The reason I bring this up... is to demonstrate how the -- "That Ain't Fair" -- generation will now jump on declaring ol' J.P., as also being a Nazi sympathizer. He was a businessman and a capitalist, and had America lost the War Bonds sold to American's and others would be worthless, as well as those sold abroad to Europeans (Germany included).
Remember, that prior to America's entry into the war... the USA was a safe-haven for ALL types of assets from Europe and elsewhere, from governments to individuals - the USA was netural. And when FDR signed EO # (a forgotten #, you can look it up) he in fact senquestered all those assets until several years after the end of WWII, when Turman's adminstration finally released the liens. The Swiss have held it against us ever since for hording their AU (gold), and since have been exposed for dealing with Nazi banks in the sale of AU being melt-down from the teeth collected at the death camps.
Even Bush issued EO's to freeze assets of enemies of the USA (Iran, others), standard proceedure!
Point is, had the USA lost the war what do you think would of happened to these assets? It isn't a trick question! "The first rule of business is to protect your investment!"

Defending Bush's Nazi Connection.
http://www.rense.com/general43/bush.htm
Are children responsible for their fathers fathers sins? Absolutely not is the answer. Although it is true GW's grandfather helped and aided the Nazi's to power had nothing to do with GW. He wasn't even born then. The point in this connection is that if we are sons of our fathers and we do nothing to point out the bad and to disown them, we become like our father. When the world is still suffering from the sins of our father and we do nothing to heal and make ammends we become like our fathers sin. When our father and fathers pass away, who is left to make it right? Only the son is left.
Now I ask you what has GW or his father said about Prescott? Absolutley nothing. What have they done to heal the world? All I see is 911 with many unsolved questions as to the demolition and other obvious facts that point directly back to the son. Furthermore they have not done things differently than their father in the attempt to disown the fathers sins, but in fact have followed the tradition and acts of the fathers by actually helping to finance Saddam Hussein and sell him weapons of mass destruction as Precott did in helping Hitler.
I don't know about you, but the chance was given to GW and to HW about the connection to their fathers sins, and it is very clear they intend to follow their fathers footsteps to create their own sins of plenty. This is when the American people must realize their committment to protecting the innocent from the tyranny from within.
This is a very shocking video...and I don't know how they could voice it over, but it is shocking and I have to say.....if this is not anti-american...then indeed murder is their plan.
What to do? Tell the world to stop him.
