Georgian TV channel reported the president killed and a new war
Today Georgian channel "Imedi" shocked the country with a series of controversial 'special issues' of news reporting the intervention of Russian troops to the country and assassination of the president Mikhail Saakashvili. The first issue informed the citizens of the country that in the morning the president of South Osetia Eduard Kokoita had been assassinated in result of a terrorist attack, which resulted in the intervention of Russian troops to the territory of Georgia and evacuation of its government and president. Several minutes later the channel reported that the president was assasinated and a "people's government" presided by the opposition leader Nino Burdzhanadze was formed in Tbilisi, which was followed by terrifying reports about bombings of Georgian airports and seaports and incontrollable panic in the country. The channel informed the audience that it was just a dramatization of the possible development of the situation only after the footage showing the people of Tbilisi fleeing from the city in horror. At this time several international media already reported the possible assassination of the Georgian president and a new war in Georgia to the international audience.
The government of South Osetia, as reported by RosBusinessConsulting, refused to comment on this 'delirium' of Georgian channel.
