German foreign minister to visit RI Feb 26-28
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier will make a three-day visit to Indonesia from February 26 to 28, 2008 as part of a tour of three Southeast Asian countries, the German Embassy here said.
Steinmeier who is also a deputy to German Chancellor Angela Merkel is scheduled to hold talks with a number of Indonesian government officials, including President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Foreign Minister Hassan Wirajuda and also with ASEAN Secretary General Surin Pitsuwan, the embassy said here on Monday.
The talks would among other things touch on such global issues as climate change, energy supply and poverty alleviation.
Seinmeier would be accompanied by a number of German parliament members dealing with foreign affairs and several prominent figures in the fields of economy and culture.
The German foreign minister is also slated to visit the German International School (DIS) in Serpong, Tangerang, Banten province, and attend a function marking the commissioning of solar energy absorbing roofs.(*) END
