Germany's, the allies and the American dream
Seemingly pressure in Germany is giving question about the 4000 troops presence in Afghanistan, it does not look good for expectations concerning more troops pledged and deployed by the Germans.
It looks like public opinion would rather have the German Military back to
its defensive roll only.
I personal think the public are right, that this is an american inciated war and they alone should sort out the mess there previous government administration caused.
They wanted to be the worlds policemen, they have shown they were very corrupt policemen. Now they want to clean up their mess its time to get out and let them sort it out. Why should our forces that where duped into being sent to an oil related war?
Of course we can't really pull out though our public at home wish we did, because its all down to treaties of which we have to abide by and those damn promises by our own damn elite. We have to back America if we don't at this moment the world will turn into a finacial turmoil and in both the battle sites civil wars that will just put things back to square one.
But my sypathy is for the civilians in the nations that back America after 9/11. How many inocent people have to be killed to make the world a so better place to feed that damn American dream?
Germany's top soldier has resigned over allegations of a cover-up related to a deadly Nato air strike in Afghanistan.
Wolfgang Schneiderhan's move followed reports that key information about the 4 September action was withheld, the defense minister said.
The strike, which was ordered by a German commander, targeted two fuel tankers hijacked by Taliban militants.
But dozens of civilians were also killed in the attack, which happened in the northern province of Kunduz.
Defence Minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg told parliament that Gen Schneiderhan had failed to provide proper information about the incident and had "released himself from his duties at his own request".
Another senior Defence Ministry official, Peter Wichert, has also resigned.
The announcement came as Germany's parliament debated whether to extend its military mission in Afghanistan, amid growing domestic opposition to involvement in the conflict.
