GET POLITICAL w/ VIC LIVINGSTON - 'JOEBAMA' Can't Save the Dems' Ticket. Now, Only Hillary Can.
• Obama's pick of Biden as running mate only underscores Barack's deficiencies
Most Americans spent a beautiful summer's afternoon outside on Saturday, not watching two predictable stump speeches that reflected more desperation than inspiration. Presumptive (presumptuous?) Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama shared the podium at the old Illinois statehouse with Delaware Sen. Joe Biden, a son of the working class, a genuine "Blue Dog" Democrat with a fierce bite, and a hero to lunch-bucket Dems, from factory workers to public safety personnel (and more than a few military families).
But in terms of maximizing the media impact of the speechifying, the Obama camp blew it. They missed the big media window (not a word in most morning papers) and they missed the chance to draw a huge live TV primetime audience.
What happened to their usually superb timing? Let's pose a theory: Team Obama is genuinely worried that Hillary will prevent him from being nominated on the first ballot, and that Barack will emerge from a boisterous floor battle as the vice-presidential nominee under Hillary; or, if she shows the savvy to go "noble," she anoints Al Gore as the prez nominee.
So they delayed the announcement to abut the convention, thus avoiding the media scrutiny that a full-ticket whistle-stop tour would engender.
And now, if the ticket "changes," the party is spared the embarrassment of a meaningless multi-city rollout.
People generally don't vote for vice-president; they assess the merits of the top of the ticket, and take the running mate as part of the package. Obama's selection of Biden, a Washington insider who was elected to the Senate in 1972, may look to some like a cunning master stroke, but upon closer examination, it's a repudiation of Obama's rationale for seeking the presidency -- to bring about "change we can believe in," a tacit rejection of the status quo.
The line from the Obama camp is that because Biden has dutifully commuted each day by train to and from his Wilmington, DE home so he could be there for his sons, he's not your typical Washington pol. But the commuting in and of itself does not negate the fact that he's well-schooled in the "old school" Washington ways.
His pick isn't "safe." It's an S.O.S. by the Obama campaign. As the AP's Ron Fournier correctly stated in a weekend analysis piece, Biden's selection cuts against the grain of the "change" narrative. Obama's candidacy is revealed as less than genuine, something his disappointed core supporters learned when he flip-flopped and vacillated on issues key to his legitimacy -- FISA/wiretapping, gun control, expansion of the death penalty, offshore drilling, etcetera, etcetera.
This is being written by a progressive who's consistently disappointed by the naivete and blind ignorance of the Dem leadership and their surrender to Obamaphilia, along with their starry-eyed minions in mainstream media.
The only option now: the superdelegates must reclaim the Democratic Party before the Obamanists weaken their clout.
Supers: reject this hostile takeover. Finesse the roll call so Hillary wins, but decides to cede her delegates to Gore as a noble unity move. Let Gore name Obama as VP -- the party's already succumbed to his siren song. And let Biden become secretary of state, if he can affect a diplomatic tongue.
Hillary will go down in history as the noble warrior, and she can either await the next seat on the Supreme Court under a President Gore, or she can return to the Senate in triumph and capture the majority leader post.
Two super-egotists on the ticket and a Joe Biden appeal to lunch-bucket Dems, no matter how sincerely delivered, can't do it. The delegates must reject Obama as the presidential nominee. They must reverse the hostile takeover of the Democratic National Committee.
Stop thinking "JOEBAMA" can save this ticket. It cannot. Vote Hillary; it's the only way to salvage a chance of winning in the fall.
BUT WILL THE ELECTION EVEN MATTER? Not when government-supported "vigilante injustice" squads are "gang stalking" American citizens, making a mockery of the rule of law:

Is there any wonder there are no comments here? Such utter stupidity. Both Hillary or Al Gore are smart enough to know that such a move will not only backfire - but will utterly destroy any political hopes to which they may aspire.
Most of us have come around to not just liking Obama, but trusting him and admiring his intellect and values and now that we've been introduced to his wife, Michelle - we know that they are a winning couple.
