Tomorrow, Glenn “Crocodile Tears” Beck and Sarah “Wink Wink” Palin are holding a 9-11 festival and rally in Anchorage, Alaska. Tickets range from $74.00 to $115.00, with VIP tickets available for $225.00.

These two right wing extremists say they are going to commemorate the horrific attack to our country on September 11, 2001 by profiting off of the dead.

Glenn Beck said on his radio show that "I hate 9/11 victims families for asking questions". He also said on that show that the victims of Hurricane Katrina were “scumbags”. You would think that it would be obvious who the real scumbags are, but there are at least 4500 people that are clueless. Organizers for the event have said that most of the 4500 seats have been sold.

Palin posted the following announcement on her Facebook page:

“I hope my fellow Alaskans (and anyone visiting from Outside) will join me this Saturday, September 11, 2010, at Anchorage’s Dena’ina Center at 8:00 p.m. Glenn Beck will be there — you won’t want to miss it,” Palin wrote. “Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com.”

Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck will NOT say where the money is going. AP reports that the  promoter of the event has been downplaying where the money will be going.

After losing on the presidential ticket with Sen. John McCain in 2008, Palin decided to quit her job as the Governor of Alaska in pursuit of making money. And according to a report by ABC News a few months back it worked, Palin has made more than $12 million from speaking fees and her book. And Glenn Beck made $32 million dollars last year by promoting divisiveness and gold for Goldline, which is one of the few remaining advertisers for his show. Goldline is currently under investigation for ripping off their customers.

P.T. Barnum, a Circus and Sideshow Freak promoter in the 19th century is attributed with the saying, "There's a sucker born every minute", and these two 3 Ring Circus Ringmasters, Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin, they call their suckers “Tea Party Folk”.

These two ghouls who are willing to profit off of dead people and pick their pockets, should be seen as “scumbags”, but their fanatical followers do not see them that way. They see them as “Real American” conservatives and celebrities.

September 11, 2001 is a memory that has been etched into the minds of everyone watching on that day, it should be a day of remembrance for those that were killed, for those that were the first responders, for those that are currently fighting in two wars and for our country that was attacked on that day. And for most Americans and millions around the world it truly is a day of remembrance. But tomorrow, in Anchorage, Alaska, Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck see 9-11 as just another day with a theme for making money, and profiting off of the dead.

Daniel Up yours!

Are you a journalist?  I didn't think so, it's too bad your too busy sucking the corporate cock of money and betraying the American people by passing your ignorant beliefs off as actual intellectual journalism.   I'm sorry you can't actually think critically, for yourself, and I am sorry you would rather demonize people that have a genuine care for their fellow man.  You will burn in the sorrow of your own hell, and probably live on my tax dollars  in the basement of your mother's house for as long as she tolerates you.

Daniel Up yours!

I also think it's interesting, you get your facts from a cable news network.  Comedy is hilarious and so are you, but John Stewart is a pothead far removed from evidence.  Why not research your own information instead of having it spoon fed to you like the sheep you are.

YankeeJim

Obviously you don't know much about NowPublic. We are citizen journalists and we reference published material from credited sources and comment about them as we wish. If it is opinion, we so designate.

You have a strong opinion, but Daniel you are not registered and hide under the guise of "not verified." Your language and values suck IMO.

Sounds like you can't handle reality, I guess thats because reality has a well known liberal bias...stick with Beck and Palin they will give you truthiness as they take your money, well actually you will be gland to give it to them, Real American Celebrities...

You really think that its OK to hold a rally to make money off of  9-11, of coursed you do...

And there is nothing in the story about Jon Stewart, who I do like and he knows how to use sarcasm in a very funny way, his wit, usually flies right over the heads of right wingers because they have been filled with truthiness from Fox...

And why do you call yourself, "Daniel Up Yours"?

2
YankeeJim

Smok'm if you got'm.

Well, David, it seems, to Sarah Palin, that holding a rally for herself, Glenn Beck and the Right Wing, if any of the money is to be sent into the coffers of the Right Wing, (BTW, no mention has been made of who or what entity will get any of the money collected), is Sarah Palin's idea of honoring the victims of 9/11.

Glenn's not taking issue with her vision for this tribute so, must be fine by him.

David up yours (not verified) You seem to be a wealth of information. Can you tell us "other" Americans if it's true that Glenn Beck is not a real Christian? And does he wear funny underwear? I've heard rumors to that effect by various Evangelicals.

2
Karen Hatter

Nanute, it seems his Christianity is in question in some sectors declaring themselves Christian since he is a Mormon.

1
David-Phillips

Beck himself said the only reason why he became a Mormon was to marry his wife, who is a Mormon...

1
anymoose

more 'proof' of what a jerk this beck guy is.  beck joins millions of people around the world who have given up their church affiliation and become members of another religion just to marry the love of their lives. we must do something about these horrible people before this becomes a trend.

5
David-Phillips

@ Anymoose: Religious intolerance and persecution is ignorant...But, Beck displays his ignorance with intolerance and persecution of Religion on his Radio and TV show almost on a daily basis towards Islam... He is a horrible person...

David, Glenn Beck, his cohorts and the majority of the Right Wing have been spreading intolerance and hate against Muslims and Islam whenever and where ever they get the opportunity.

Beck has repeatedly falsely claimed that Park51 was scheduled to open on September 11, 2011. He has also referred to the Islamic center as "the 9-11 mosque" and has wondered if it is "a possibility" that Park51's location is about "inoculation."

                                                 ++++++

Washington Times: "If the mosque is constructed, the terrorists win." In an August 19 editorial, The Washington Times stated of the planned Islamic community center in New York City: "The Ground Zero Mosque is not healing a rift but deepening a wound. If the mosque is constructed, the terrorists win."

                                                ++++++

Limbaugh compares campaign against Park51 to Cold War: "We're now fighting the mosqueovites." On his August 25 radio show, Limbaugh compared the right-wing campaign against Park51 to the Cold War, claiming, "We're now fighting the mosqueovites."

(This is Frank)Gaffney (of 'secret coded messages being used by President Obama to signal Muslim world' fame): Protesters holding signs with "Shariah" written in "dripping, blood-red ink" is "informed opposition" to Park51. In an August 26 Washington Times op-ed, Frank Gaffney wrote that protesters at a recent rally against the planned Islamic community center in Manhattan "had come together ... in informed opposition to the impetus behind that mosque: Shariah." Gaffney added: "In fact, throughout the crowd could be seen signs with just the word 'Shariah' lettered in dripping, blood-red ink.

I know, it is sad that so many in America are so easily manipulated, the right wing pundits, right wing news sources and even many right wing politicians play on the fears of malleable minds in America by attacking Islam and its followers...IMO, they are Terrorists (not in the sense that they themselves kill people), they terrorize people with half truths, misdirection and flat out lies to fan the flames of hate which cause others to to commit violence, or even to start wars...They shout LIES and whisper apologizes...

2
Karen Hatter

.... and David, those apologies, IF they are even offered, often leave so much to be desired.

i don't know anything about glen beck. never heard a word he has spoken or ever viewed his program. what i do know is that you and others who post here on np are as bigoted, narrow minded and as intolerant of an opposing view as you claim he is. but what upsets me most is you do it under the guise of being liberal and there is nothing liberal about your thinking. you are mirror images of your hate. after days of reading here on np about how terrible glen beck is and his agenda [ ??] i read a article on cnn web by a reporter who was there for the six hour event and  he had nothing bad to say about becks speech whatsoever. he said the message was a positive one and the quotes he gave proved just how innocuous it all was. there was none of the rhetoric and hate speech you people fore-casted.  you had a week of  frenzied unbridled prejudice and  bigoted comments full of ridicule and belittlement projecting a fear of conservativism  and in the end where no better than what you had hoped to make out glen beck to be. if the behavior you people exhibit is liberal that means i have to move further to the right and that pi$$'s me off.

It is reasonable to state that one cannot get a complete dose of Glenn Beck's vitriol in one sitting, at one event. It is most reasonable base opinion upon his collected works offered on FOX and on the radio.

anymoose (not verified), Glenn Beck's constant tirades, as well as the hate speech provided by the FOXNews, Washington Times, FreeRepublic, WorldNetDaily and many other Right leaning sites can be easily located on the internet.

Making note of the tendencies of these individuals and websites does not represent some bizarre reverse proof of hate speech by those making note of the hate speech offered by those among the Right Wing.

i try to give a response according to my own liberal views with out joining the extremes. which is becoming more difficult with the progressive left seeming to want to redefine liberalism in their image. we seem to be loosing the political center in this country as many liberals are forced to move towards the right to distinguish themselves from the current onslaught from the progressive left. and i'm afraid we are going to pay for this down the road in more than one election. accordingly and as i have posted to you before, no one can go before the public using inflammatory and intolerant language in support of their opinions and then in the same breath hold themselves as any different than the people or institutions they use such language to attack, defame, ridicule or outright slander. any moral authority one may have conferred upon themselves is squandered through their behavior being no different than the others. it doesn't matter if that is glen beck, david-phillips, karen hatter or myself.

4
Karen Hatter

Making note of the tendencies of individuals and websites that continually offer a daily commentary of hate and intolerance does not represent some bizarre reverse proof of hate speech by those making note of the hate speech offered by those among the Right Wing.

By the way, in legal terms, written word would not be slander; it would be libel.

In this case, when reading the opinions offered by the Right Wing individuals and entities noted here, it would be only with great difficulty and linguistic gymnastics that one would attempt to proclaim the words offered, in this case, regarding Islam and Muslims, as anything other than intolerant hate speech. In many cases, THEIR stated opinions are ".... outright slander."

This is not about ideological differences, as you seek to portray it, anymoose (not verified).

This is about the xenophobic worldview offered by the Right Wing as it seeks to withdraw into increasingly obvious, painfully apparent isolationist positions.

your hysteria, their hysteria, your parsing of their statements, their parsing the statements of others, your selective view of history, their view of history, all mixes into a dead zone of white noise. don't you think if we really cared what republicans thought we'd be republicans. we care what democrats think. we have enough problems of our own with out sitting on the republicans. and we are not all buying into obama's and your imam rauf's scare tactic that american opinion of muslim islamist, the 9/11 mosque debate, threats of qu'ran burning, or any other hocus pocus is going to deter muslim islamist from their fascist course or cause unnecessary injury to our troops.  it's all bull-twaddle. and the only concern for any isolationist position is that one right there. one so heavily mixed with censure of our freedom of speech that tells americans to stfu and sit down and take it while obama extends bush's 9/11 state of emergency ruling.  what state of emergency lasts nine years? we have democrat fundraisers charged with fraud, 4 or 5 others charged with ethic violations, one full blown felony charge, high unemployment, no manufacturing jobs to speak of, banks unwilling to lend, unsecured borders, 12 million illegals, gitmo still up and running, double talk on iraq, a surge in afghanistan and god knows what all i've left out but, one thing is for sure, and that is that all of it has nothing to do with what republicans are saying. it is the democrats running the show in washington not republicans. democrats who are still bitching about bush and blaming bush while they carry on bush policy.  so give me a break karen. what glen beck has to say doesn't even fit into the scheme of things. democrats had better see to their hole card because we put everything into the pot, all 2 plus trillion, backing obama and we are being called with nothing but a pair of deuces showing.

INTERPOL is the world’s largest international police organization, with 188 member countries.

Created in 1923, it facilitates cross-border police co-operation, and supports and assists all organizations, authorities and services whose mission is to prevent or combat international crime.

From a release issued by INTERPOL, regarding the possible fallout from the stated intent to burn the Islamic world's holy book, the Quran, by Pastor Terry Jones on September 11, 2010:

.... the reaction of INTERPOL and others around the world in response to this planned hateful act should be seen by the Muslim community as strong evidence that this man and his small congregation stand alone,” concluded Secretary General Noble.

In addition to circulating any related information to NCBs, staff at INTERPOL’s 24-hour Command and Co-ordination Centre at the General Secretariat Headquarters will be placed on alert and be asked to treat with urgency any information related to potential criminal conduct linked to the burning of the Koran.

There are more than 1 billion individuals worldwide declaring their faith to be Islam.

Democrats, Liberals and the progressive left have not changed their views with the current admin or the previous admin or the one before that...It is the extremism from the right that has changed over the last couple of decades...They are the ones who view extremism as main stream, they are the ones that now see eye to eye with the John Birch Society that was ostracized decades ago from the Republican Party for their right wing extremism, they are the ones who embrace white supremacists, they are the ones who want to trash the Constitution because of their xenophobia... it is right wing pundits such as Fox and their echo chambers that have been fanning the flames of hate and intolerance...It is they who tell their listeners not to go to college because of all the evil liberal teachers, it is they who tell their audience not to listen or watch any other media other than right wing media, it is they who have wrapped themselves in the American flag while waving a bible as they bring their fascist ideals to our country...

You say you are trying to give your response from from your "own liberal views", if that is true, then you have been blind to what has been going on, or you are really a right wing extremist yourself trying to sound like a liberal which you do a bad job of...

For you to defend Beck and his ilk is very telling ...For you to not see what is going on all around you... is typical...

since i don't spend my hours focused on glen beck i can not say where his extremes lie. but since i do spend my hours deeply concerned with what the democrat party is doing i can tell you that there has been many a shift in thinking. the simple election of obama altered the stance of the direction the party would move. so you are wrong by those accounts and also though not unexpected, twisting  what i said to  have me 'defending' glen beck  is typical of the extreme left who want to tell us what we think or don't think as liberals. there is nothing liberal about your thinking but an advocacy for fear mongering and hate to keep the socio-political divide humming along so you can inject your socialist agenda. go create your own party. the democrat party is not the place for your extreme left ideology. at least the tea party has the guts to stand up and identify themselves unlike you skulking among democrats where we hold freedom of speech, freedom of opinion, freedom of conscience, as real tangible values. i don't make any criticism of what you say. i am critical how you say what you say under the guise of being liberal. i can not hold your views to be any different than you claim glen becks to be if you are going to be using the very same language and tactics to communicate. if you were speaking under the banner of socialist i wouldn't even comment on your language but since your doing it representing democrats i have to speak. i don't want all democrats to be labeled by your language as you label all republicans by glen becks language.

What a bunch of BS you are spewing, you say you don't spend your hours focused on Beck, you obviously do spend your hours focused on the right wing pundits, like Glenn Beck which is where you spend your time, you parrot their talking points, seems you are merely spending your hours like all other right wing extremists, and that is to accuse Obama, Democrats and Liberal of everything, including that the sky is falling...

You are fighting to say the Tea Party has guts, you are fighting so say Glenn beck and his ilk are not responsible for the great divide in our country, you are fighting to say that the President and democrats are ruining the country...YOU are a right wing extremist, you don't fool anyone...You are entitled to your opinion, but you are not entitled to your own facts...

When I write of Glenn Beck, or Sarah Palin I use facts, sometimes when they exploit tragedies like they did yesterday on 9-11, I can be more passionate because I love my country, and because they are making money off of dead people and the horrific attack on my country, but you defend such actions you think its OK to hold festivals and rallies so they can profit themselves while lying, and spewing hate to divide my country, ...

As I said you, are a typical right wing extremist...I'm not twisting anything you said, I am stating facts that you are Full of Sh*t and a LIAR...

You speak of some BS banner of speaking under socialism, up yours, to be a democrat or a liberal is not socialism, to support social programs like medicare, social security or a public health care program is not socialism, you have no clue to the meaning of the word socialism...The programs I mentioned are social programs that we could not have without our capitalism...I'm a Veteran, I'm a Democrats and most of all, I am an American...And you are a typical right wing stooge who does not know the truth, you are a parrot of "truthiness" spewed by your heroes at Fox and on right wing garbage radio...

You are fooling no one, you are a sheep, in sheep's clothing...You don't even have the balls to own up to your own words, you hide behind anonymous postings like so many other sheep like you... You are a COWARD...

0
anymoose

thank you for making my point for me.  you twist everything to get your hate on. you fabricate to claim fact. you use emotive hyperbole instead of reasoned debate and you are completely unable to view yourself in terms of the language you use. the only sheep are those who can't explore or accept the world beyond their ideology and that is you and your ilk.  you are the ultimate coward and liar as you parse everything to fit your narrow bigoted hateful view of the world and use difference of opinion or politics to manufacture your "enemies" and then use that as justification for being absolutely no different. two-faced hypocrite.

3
David-Phillips

No, it is you who has proven the point...It is you ho has done nothing but attack in all of your comments and when people respond to your attacks you accuse them of being extreme...You are a Foxbot...You claim to be a liberal, LOL...You are as liberal as Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh...But at least they are willing to show their face...

0
anymoose

riiiight. because anyone who doesn't agree with you or points out your obvious hypocrisy in statements has to be a "foxbot" lol.  and for the record np allows for anonymous postings. there is nothing wrong about it and your wanting to suggest that somehow you have a superior moral position for being a member is part and parcel of your arrogance and intolerance towards others. your only intellectual tools are belittlement and ridicule of those who don't march in lockstep with your sneering, vitriolic outlook. i don't need glen beck or rush limbaugh.  i've got you. the mirror image.

The self-appointed "progressives" sit on the extreme left end of the Democrat bench. They spend their time and interest focused on their ideological rivals the "neo-conservative",  who sit on the extreme right of the Republican bench, who in turn spend their time and interest focused on the extreme left. Both extremes are shouting over the heads of the majority hoping to influence the political policy making. To do that they must generate fear and anxiety among the majority middle. The only thing they have ever accomplished is the movement away from them by those who sit closest to the hysterical shouting. Both extremes will never be more than observers who have shouted their anxieties until dumb with stupor. Don't let them draw you into their dimension of  acrimony and bitterness.

3
nanute

Why the term progressives in quotes? And who says progressives sit on the extreme left end of the "Democrat" bench? Anyone that uses the word Democrat as an adjective is most likely aware that using the word in this fashion is speaking pejoratively. The term has been around along time, and Rush Limbaugh and Republicans make a point of using it in this fashion quite often.

"Democrat Party" is a political epithet used in the United States instead of "Democratic Party" when talking about the Democratic Party. The term has been principally used by conservative commentators and members of the Republican Party in party platforms, partisan speeches and press releases since the 1930s. The explicit goal is to dissociate the name of the rival party from the concept of democracy.[1]

The only fear and anxiety being created in the current state of domestic politics is being fueled by extreme elements of the Republican Party. When progressives push back and point out the obvious, you hear such rhetoric as Glenn Beck saying that progressivism is a cancer that needs to be eradicated from our system. The tea party is a "movement" created by, and part of, the Republican right wing that has done a very good job of stirring up fear amongst a small, but vocal minority of Americans.

Who do you think created the middle class in America? Conservatives? Progressive Democrats were the catalyst for the creation of the middle class. The GI Bill (with help from Republicans), organized labor, Social Security and Medicare are all a result of progressive ideas. With the exception of the GI Bill, conservatives have been trying to dismantle all of these programs. They hate the very idea of a sense of fairness and social equality and have done a pretty good job of making organized labor, and middle class standards of living decline since the Reagan revolution in 1980. To be fair, Bill Clinton helped them immeasurably with the passage of NAFTA.    58% of Real Income Growth Since 1976 Went to Top 1% (and Why That Matters)
