Glenn Beck's Rally - MLK's neice's speech

Amaging agglomeration people has seen at Glenn Beck Rally with more than 300,000 headcount .People managed time from bussy life managed time for Rally.

Speculation as to the Glenn Beck Rally Attendance have been from anywhere in the neighborhood of 70,000 to almost half a million. Since the park department doesn’t count attendance anymore no one will know for sure. One thing is perfectly clear from the pictures of the event, there were way more than any 70,000 people on the mall in Washington, DC today. We here at CMR talked to a few officers, who were on duty today, and they gave us unofficial estimates of around 300,000 people. One officer said it had to be at least 300,000 as the people were crammed in the mall all over the place. Judging by the pictures we have seen, we think that is a pretty good estimate of the Glenn Beck Rally Attendance. Glenn kept his promise of keeping politics out of the event as not one of the speakers got off topic. It is refreshing to see so many people standing together for a cause

pankaj kumar, I think your story has potential but needs some improvement.

- the acutal number was 87,000 not 300,000 - this according to an independent firm hired by CBS.

While I wasn't at the rally, it's way past funny that the haters of anybody that smacks ofanything conservative (i.e. the Founding Fathers and the Constitution!) are saying, even, that the rally's attendance was "PATHETIC," and of of these stupid, biased web sites eventried to paint Beck with the same brush as the 1920's evangelist, Amy Semple McPherson which that site had to point out that she was smeared with scandal, with those paintdroppings splattering on Glenn Beck, on purpose of course. It's funny how the Lamestreammedia is quick to "verify" a Jesse Jackson meeting as almost containing every person inAmerica, but any conservative meeting, such as Beck's, gets a 100 power microscope. However, I think Beck made a major mistake in discouraging signs and also stating that the meeting was not political. For that reason, Mr. Beck blew a big chance, no, a MAJOR chance to make the rally a political one. Had he done that, people would remember not onlymany of the signs that could have been displayed, but also a major political posture of themad-as-hell-and-aren't-going-to-take-it-anymore citizens, some of whom sat in buses forthree days to come to Washington. Nevertheless, if Beck-hating NBC even indicated thatthere were 300,000 people there, there must have been, while the New York Times pooh-poohed the numbers, predictably. And these newspapers wonder why they are losingcirculation faster than the Titanic gained water? When will they wake up to the fact that not only is the internet a major source of information, but that because of their liberal, ongoing prejudice, people are getting sick and tired of the lies and distortions.I am not allergic to posting my name or my e-mail address if anyone cares to argue, but mostliberals will not dare. As a good friend of mine just said, liberals are immune to embarrassment. Think about it. Dan Quayle, far more qualified to be President, is still beingsnickered at because of one tiny goof where he read an incorrect spelling of "potato" on acue card in a schoolroom Yet did you read, anywhere in the liberal media, the fact that thisso-called well-educated, Smarter Than God president Obama pronounced the word CORPSincorrectly, three times, referring to the military CORPSE.It makes me sick.Written on Sunday, August 29  by Mike Parkhurst. Come on....Glenn Beck is a lying self-promoting moron.      I can't wait until this guy self-destructs.

If you listen to him, really listen and research what he is telling you, I promise you will soon realize how honest he is.

It's easy to call someone a names, how about backing up those claims!

To Loser4893,How are you defining moron?

1
fsu guy

Surely the moron you meant is Obama. He can't talk without fumbling, etc. without his famous teleprompter. Glem Beck talks from the heart. That's a real Christian.

You've made it very clear as to the depth of your character. Just a suggestion that Iknow you'll never consider, but you should know that the content of your speechreflects on your character. Choose your words carefully as your statements maysay more about yourself than the person you are attacking.

Kill em with kindness. This was Glenn's message and he is right and it is working. I pray that your anger doesn't consume you!

Erichthinks

Yeah mike, he's a "so-called" well-educated guy.  You question his BA and JD from Columbia and Harvard because they're not accredited by the National Mike Accrediting Foundation. I'd also like for you to show me any liberal who claimed Obama is "Smarter Than God."  And pronouncing the 'ps' in corps makes you sick? Really? Did you vomit? You should call a doctor.  I'm glad you speak for all truckers, as I'm sure they all agreed for you to be the voice of the collective.  It's funny to me that you believe you're represented by the people Glenn Beck endorses.  It just magnifies the sad situation voters in this country have found themselves in.  We all subscribe to the idea that if we're not liberal, then we MUST be conservative, and vice versa.  Are truckers who earn $40k-$150k really represented by either? No way. The middle class is ignored, and incensed to fight about polarizing non-issues like the Glenn Beck rally, when we should really be asking why the FCIC is falling apart, why they've been forced to sign a non-disclosure agreement, and what are the House and Senate *really* doing for their constituents.

Lysander

If you vote for House and Senate  candidates to "do something" for you, then indeed you are part of the problem. In the process of "doing something", they're racked up an incredibly large deficit and national debt that will probably be repudiated rather than retired, a record of corruption that monetarily is the the largest in scope on earth, and you still want them to "do something" for you. I do agree that there is much more to the political spectrum than "liberal or conservative", but the most important aspect now is the spending continuum.

what do you expect ? i'm not surprised at the lame stream media woefull underestimate...funny too cos  nearby we had former fatboy, hatemonger "rev" sharpton raging and stirring up the continued hate between the races and getting airtime with what? a few hundred of his kool aid drinking, gimme sum mo public money supporters?pathetic!

Eric, wake up, and get some common sense.  Mike, right on!

0
Erichthinks

Haha, really? A Kool-aid reference? That's awesome.  Way to really make a substantial point.  And also, by 'lame stream media' what do you mean exactly? Does Fox news not fall into that category?  I'm just curious.  If you could break it down for me, that'd be excellent.

0
Lysander

The fact that you need someone to "break it down for you" is all any of us need to know about your ability to grasp an awareness of the obvious. I suspect your "curiosity" is severely limited to : "gosh, I wonder when the next subsidy will be available" and "is there a victim category I can fit into so I can avail myself of it", and "I'm so happy that it's the first of the month and the eagle is ready to crap!"

0
erichthinks

I don't think you caught the rhetorical nature of my question to 'break it down.'  I don't really need the poster to break it down, I was calling out the hypocrisy in the poster's statement about the 'lame stream.'  I'm willing to admit that MSNBC and CNN are just as liberal as Fox is conservative.  But I'll go ahead and assume you are smart enough to have picked up on that.  As far as me waiting for subsidies and victimization and your allusion to welfare, I'll have you know (as you maybe guessing already) that I'm on the other end of the spectrum.  I have seen first hand what a first of the month looks like from a banker's perspective, and believe me, it's not pretty.  I never want to be in that position.  I just moved and have been unemployed for over a month.  I'm diligently looking for work, and I believe my skills and experience will help me in that regard.  I was raised in the midwest and have family values not unlike those that Glenn Beck professes to engender. I'm not looking for handouts.  I'm looking for the American people to take back their government.  Unfortunately, I don't see Glenn Beck as the best proponent of that change.  I see him as a device to keep us divided, unable to come together to make *real* change, not 'Obama change.' But - speaking of Congress - if by voting for a Rep or Senator to 'do something,' I'm throwing away my vote, tell me why you vote for whom in Congress. What are we to expect them to do?  Personally, I like www.goooh.com because I believe you when you say their record of corruption is unrivaled.  But we have to sound like lunatics when we talk about making a change in American politics as the voting public.  I'm reading book after book about the Founding Fathers right now, because I want to know more, and I want to elicit a change in the status quo.  What should we do?

0
Erichthinks

J libby, I hate to break it to you but - your statement's not an argument.  Although I'll grant you it is both condescending and grammatically mediocre.  I am awake, and I have common sense.  If you think otherwise, please, enlighten me.

Well, first of all I was at the rally and I can say that  the rally included a section that was devoted as a true, honest, and heartfelt tribute to Martin Luther King, a man that Glenn said was a man of honor. The rally, afterall, was about restoring honor.  The naysayers will have to face this fact: IF there were really only 87,000 people at the rally, then it must follow that there really weren't 200,000 people at the King rally in 1963. That headcount would necessarily have to be wrong! Even if they counted people back then.  The aerial photos don't lie.  You can't have it both ways.  If you look at the pictures, there is no way that there were half as many people present at the Restoring Honor rally as there were at the 1963 rally.  So, if you expect us to believe that 200,000 people attended the King rally in '63, you'll have to stop pretending that only 87,000 people were at the Restoring Honor rally.  The pictures don't lie.

I think all black people should wake up... The things Glen Beck says are right. The Al Sharptons and the democrats are just trying to harvest our black votes. All the democrats want to do is keep us on the PLANTATION. The old SLAVERY was based on race... The new Slavery is based on stupidity... They used to harvest our cotton now SHARPTON WANTS TO HARVES OUR VOTES. SHARPTON'S BULLSHIP was enacted by the democrats and has led to black & white unemployment, black homes lost while rich bankers (democrats) and rich white investors like George Serous (democrat) get a bailouts and payoffs! Then they flip Big Al Sharpton a few hundred thousand to keep us on the plantation come vote harvesting time. WAKE UP MY BROTHERS, Glen Beck speaks of freedom and prosperity for blacks and whites... Al Sharpton and his rich democratic handlers are leading us into a depression causes by the implementation of socialism.

To erichthinks If you would get the just of what Glenn is trying to convey<restoring honor then peoples eyes would open to the right path  including the people in washington hopefully .If you would watch his show with a open mind and determine (for your self) you could see the founding fathers had it right .And that we as a country are going in the wrong direction and will not see until its to late

Oh, and did you notice that Beck did the whole thing without a teleprompter?

I still can't figure Beck out ....    I can't tell if he is a genius or an idiot ?    seriously.

0
Barry S.

I don't know if Beck is a genius or an idiot but I think he is honest, sincere & really INTERESTING. As far as President Obama being so intelligent I think we are finding out he's not that sharp. He's just another slick politician with an agenda that goes against the wishes of most Americans. I am afraid that the left wing of the Democrat party, my party, will do even more harm to the country after the election. I still can't believe comments from the Leadership such as "we will find out what's in the bill after we pass it". This is not the way it is supposed to be. The people in Washington haven't gotten worse every year. I don't understand what they are trying to do.

He's a good, honest man.  There isn't a whole lot of them so they're hard to recognize.

You've got it right k reed.  It is very hard to recognize honesty now days.  Unless you hear it and are not closed to learning about and knowing truth. Glenn Beck is no moron.

Glenn Beck had this rally purposely to show the NAACP and Rev. Sharpton that he had more followers and that's why he held the rally at the steps of Lincoln Memorial on Martin Luther King Jr. anniversary.  Glenn Beck has a lot of followers to listen to his hate and raising the fear of Xenophobia and Islamophobia.  The Tea Party led by former Republican Speaker, Dick Amney and White Supremacist group, began their rhetoric with President Obama the month he started office.  The hate is like a disease spreading throughout America and al-Qaeda and Tal-ban have been having a field day video-taping all of these hate events to show the Muslim world that our nation is "A Nation of Hate".

I can see this tape being shown in America real soon. It is inevitable because the internet is worldwide and we are the main event thanks to the Tea Party, Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, FoxNews, etc., etc.

There are over 25 racist hate groups in America such the main chapters:  Neo-Nazis Group; Racist Skinheads; White Supremacist Groups; Militia Groups; Neo-Confederate Groups; Cultural Nationalist Organizations/Radical Immigration Reform Groups.  How many members in each hate group do you think attended this rally?  All of them, because this is how they get new recruitments and this is how they incite the public through their hate comments, like on this website and every website that has a comment section.

From your comment, I can see that you have not bothered to listen to Beck or any of his other speakers.  They preached nothing like hate.  The only hate in DC that day was spewing from the prince of hate and division, Al Sharpton.
