The main hall of the airport is huge. There are a pair of gliders inside, suspended from the ceiling beams. You can also see the skylights here and the modern design.
In the original designs for the airport, it was hoped to have a fancy restaurant for up to 2000 people, and a roof garden restaurant for several hundred more. While the restaurants were never completed (it's now a basketball court for american soldier recreation) before WW2, you can still see the original signs and elements which were very art deco.
