On the 25th July 2009, an internet site called United for Iran is coordinating a Global Day of Action.  The organization states that it’s non political and is condemning the lack of human rights of the Iranian citizens.

Its being suggested that…

Nobel Laureates and Prominent Iranian Poets & Artists Support the Global Day of Action: Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Shirin Ebadi, Jody Williams, Betty Williams, Mairead Maguire, Adolfo Perez Esquivel, Rigoberta Menchu Tum, Simin Behbahani, Ismael Khoii, and Dariush.

Are supporting this global event, hopefully it will turn out to be peaceful with no riots in the cities that  Iranians and peace activist are all ready pledged to stand in unity with the Iranian citizens in Iran. Events going to held in the following cities  (Each link leads to the organization involved)

Amsterdam, Atlanta, Austin, Bagnacavallo, Barcelona, Berlin, Bishkek, Bogota, Boston, Brighton, Brussels, Calgary, Charlotte, Chicago, Columbus, Copenhagen, Dallas, Denver, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Fresno, Gainesville, Glasgow, Gothenburg, Halifax, Hamburg, Helena, Houston, Kansas City, Lahore, Las Vegas, Lincoln, London, Los Angeles, Luxembourg, Madison, Melbourne, Montreal, Munich, New York, Oslo, Ouagadougou, Paris, Philadelphia, Portland, Raleigh, Rome, St. Louis, San Diego, San Francisco, Sao Paulo, Seattle, Stockholm, Tempe, Tokyo, Toronto, Vancouver, Vienna, Washington DC, Zurich.

Un-happily  I can attend any of these events as each city is to far for me to travel. But I really believe in what these people stand for and want to relate to the present government in Iran.

I however see a big opportunity for those that practice citizen journalist within this news community to involve themselves in obtaining photo’s, video’s and interviews etc from those that attend one of these rallies near where members may live. This I see as an opportunity to show citizen journalism at its best.

If you feel like I do please unite as citizen journalist to report these events that made a very bold statement to the present government of Iran.
