A sad news hits the golfing world when one of the best Golf players in the mid 1970's and mid 1990's was diagnosed with a severe disease. This great golfer won 5 majors including 3 Open Championships.

Golf legend Seve Ballesteros has been diagnosed with a brain tumour and will undergo a biopsy on Tuesday.

The Spaniard was admitted to Madrid's La Paz hospital on 6 October after briefly losing consciousness.

The hospital said on Friday he had left intensive care, having been "admitted because of a partial epileptic fit".

But on Sunday, Ballesteros, 51, said: "I inform you that after an exhaustive check that was realised at Hospital La Paz, a brain tumour has been detected."

francisrivera, I like this story. It's good stuff.

I am sorry this happened to Mr. Ballesteros.  We are still reeling with the shock of Senator Kennedy's diagnosis.  Of course, this was the cause of death for noted attorney, Johnnie Cochran.

I anticipate that malignant brain tumors will increase significantly soon.  Can you guess why?

francisrivera, I like this story. It's good stuff. could you tag this Cancer too and it will the appear in the cancer feature area - this is so sad - but i'm sure Seve will fight as hard as he can.

Thanks Lotus, Ive already added "cancer" as tag. I do hope he beats this disease.
