When the Inspector Generalfor the Defense Department recently released a 69-page audit to theHouse Committee on Oversight and Government Reform criticizing the‘reckless at best’, accounting practices by the Pentagon of theIraq invasion and subsequent occupation that couldn’t rationallyaccount for almost $15 Billion worth of goods and services rangingfrom trucks, bottled water and mattresses to rocket-propelledgrenades and machine guns that were bought from contractors in theIraq reconstruction effort.
You would think theAmerican People would be outraged and in the streets immediatelyprotesting, or at the very least contacting their congressmandemanding a better explanation of how $15 billion just vanishedwithout a clue.
