GOP meltdown threatens bail out

Forget bi-partisanship.  The GOP can't even agree amongst themselves on a bail out package.  Earlier today Bush made a desperate plea to lawmakers to come together and John McCain decided to abandon the process and headed to Mississippi.

Bush delivered a terse statement from outside the Oval Office of the White House, acknowledging lawmakers have a right to express their doubts and work through disagreements, but declaring they must "rise to the occasion" and avert an economic meltdown.

Meanwhile Obama has surged in the polls as the electorate sees him as most fit to fix the nation's economic ills.

Pres Bush's tone is decidedly saying, "You nincompoops deserve all this."

mtippett, I like this story. It's good stuff.

If Obama and the Democrats don't get elected after all this, it will definitely show something’s seriously wrong with the American voter! Even more so than when Bush was allowed to begin a second term.
