If there is one thing you can count on, it is that Christian fundamentalists (which make up a sizable percentage of the Republican party) hate Muslims. Maybe more so than they hate atheists or gays or immigrants or Wiccans or feminists or union leaders. Now, I'm no great defender of Islam. Islamic radicals are a real problem in the world. But the average Muslim here in the U.S. is by no means a radical. But, Christian fundamentalists believe they should be stripped of their rights. They oppose the building of mosques in Tennessee (along with other states), oppose an Islamic Center in NYC and have even advocated that Muslims be stripped of the right to practice their religion.

A Tennessee state senator, Rick Womack is even advocating that all Muslims in the military be kicked out. He said:

"Personally, I don’t trust one Muslim in our military because they’re commanded to lie to us through the term called Taqiyya. And if they truly are a devout Muslim, and follow the Quran and the Sunnah, then I feel threatened because they’re commanded to kill me."

But the thing is, if Christians followed literally what the bible says, they would have to kill gays, non-believers, disobedient children, wiccans etc. But, Christians aren't like that, even fundamentalists.Nobody, thankfully, follows the bible literally. The most raging fundamentalist Christian would be a liberal compared to Christians of 800 years ago. Why, because the Enligtenment, changed Christianity and Christians. It watered down its' worst excesses. Muslims are also aren't going to kill us in our street. They share the same basic American values as everyone else.

You really enjoy trashing Christians while ignoring the numerous incidents of Muslim troops committing treason and murder against their combatant brothers. many of these incident have been covered up by the leftist US media. Just because you hate Christians so much this is not a smart way to look at the growing problem of terrorism among the ranks of the armed forces.

Hello JerryM. The senator's comments in the article is clearly disimination of false information, nothing new. btw, I am Muslim, and no DOC, I wasn't commanded to lie or kill you. In fact, nowhere in the quran or sunnah (legislature) does it command us to do what the senator stated, as quoted in the article. The comment is deceitfull, I'll explain.

The rafidi shiite are known as the liars, because they are made to believe by their leaders they will receive blessings for liing to non-rafidi (that includes muslims). The are not muslims. In fact, they literally worship graves, their leaders, etc. Even the majority of other shiite don't approve of them, nor accept them. They also love to kill others that stand in their way, regardless of who it is, or in what country they are in. Iran is mainly rafidah, and they are not muslim. After the nephew of the prophet, Ali, was mudered, and up until this day, they kill Muslims for not believing in their cultish ideology, including the 12 imams that went into seclusion for some time then reappeared with the true religion; that may have come straight from the cult manual for dummies.

The point is, we must know what constitutes being muslim, before we make a blanket comment about muslims. Furthermore, don't ever blame Islam, for what muslims do, unless the legitamite proof for the act is found in the quran or sunnah (legal ways, and also an explanation of the verses in the quran). Similarly, Christians would be outraged if Christianity were blamed for the acts of it's members, like hitler, reverand jim jones, etc...

1981 - In Darkley, Northern Ireland, Catholic terrorists with automatic weapons killed three and wounded seven in a Protestant church on a Sunday morning. It was "one of hundreds of Protestant–Catholic ambushes which have cost nearly 3,000 lives during 20 years of religious conflict in Northern Ireland." [Haught, 1990, 10]

Father Andrew Christian Anderson was found guilty on 26 counts of child molestation. He was sentenced to only five years probation. The church had never reported him to authorities, and continued allowing him contact with young boys. [Gaylor, Annie Laurie, "Sexual Child Abuse In The Church," in Leedom, 373.]

1995, July "Srebrenica: Worst European Atrocity Since World War II"
Led by "Serb commander-in-chief General Ratko Mladic."
"In a five-day orgy of slaughter at Srebrenica in July 1995, up to 8,000 Muslims were systematically exterminated in what was described at the U.N. war crimes tribunal as "the triumph of evil."
"More than 60 truckloads of refugees were taken from Srebrenica to execution sites where they were bound, blindfolded, and shot with automatic rifles."
"Some were buried alive...."
"... Bosnian Serb forces had killed and tortured refugees at will. Streets were littered with corpses, he said, and rivers were red with blood. Many people committed suicide to avoid having their noses, lips and ears chopped off...."
"... adults being forced to kill their children or watching as soldiers ended the young lives." [CNN World, 05/26/2011]

The verse in the quran which so many ignorant people choose to use for their scare tactics on the unaware public, "kill them wherever you find them", referred to the pagan Arabs that drove them out of their homes and fought and tortured them. It had nothing to do with Chritians.

The problem isn't with Islam, it's with those that blind-follow personalities, their own ego, desires, rather than following Islam.
