Gordon Brown blames Margaret Thatcher for poor social mobility

So Brown will blame low social mobilty on Thatcher which is maybe a bad move - true or not - as many will see him trying to shift the blame - true or not - for the drowing gap between poorest to richest on someone who left power many years ago.

Gordon Brown will today blame Margaret Thatcher for Britain's low rates of social mobility and accuse the former Conservative Prime Minister of creating a lost generation by "denying many children the chance to progress".

The keynote speech coincides with the unveiling of plans to pay poorer parents for signing up their children to state health and education schemes.

The Prime Minister will say that the economic policies of Conservative governments in the 1980s meant Britain has become a harder place for poor people to get ahead.

LotusFlower, I like this story. It's good stuff.

Fred Harrison explains this very well in his book "Ricardo's Law" ...and he has a short YouTube video on this subject, of the same name: http://www,youtube.com/lyrebirdchannel

I think the Labour party will never take the blame  anything and will always blame some one else they rewrite history at will it seems that modern day labour are people who have never worked in the real world and make anything to sell to make a profit to enable them to pay tax the I call them the Polieurocraticsocialistic class are the new aristocracy .Dr David Kelly according to Labour killed himself, some one else gave the wrong info on Iraq, credit crunch came from Usa.The pensions in melt down because of the stock market not because Brown took 15 billion a year in tax. When he lived in number11 he laid mines everywhere

now as prime minister he has lost the map and walks on his stealth tax mines everyday
