Of course my paranoia is taking over, now the UK government owns bank this means for the first time they can look at bank records with impunity and track down tax evasion. Not that I am hiding anything, but is this bailout also being used as a big brother plot? Of course it will also allow better investigation of money laundering and an aid to the war on terror.

No I am being paranoid; please don’t listen to me.... But we are talking America here and it was a British Idea. The elite are very crafty and my view of the other side of the coin could be correct. Conspiracy, how I love conspiracy theories.

Now that the big five investment banks of America have been shut down, sold off or turned into more staid bank holding companies, there is one big risk-taking banker left: the federal government.
