Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, the governor of Pakistan's central bank, has been listed in the ten outstanding women leaders in Asia.
KARACHI: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Governor, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar has been listed among the ten outstanding Asian women leaders. The report published in a newspaper, Asian Wall Street Journal said that SBP Governor, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar was the first woman Governor of Pakistan’s Central Bank placed in a better position for tackling the existing financial crisis in the country. The newspaper further said that the wide and varied experience of Dr. Shamshad Akhtar could be gauged from this fact that she had worked with the World Bank and Asian Development Bank in the capacity of an expert on economy.

Women's bad condition in Pakistani society have been discussed and there are many bad incidents involving bad treatment meted out to them. Hopefully this will give some home to suppressed women in Pakistan

Sanjay, I concur with you but don't you feel that women in India are being suppressed too, at least we (Pakistanis) have set an example.
