All polls showed them tied : Smitherman and Ford i.e.

Toronto Star and most of the media showed open bias.

But the people of Toronto had something else in mind. They didn't buy into the Ex Deputy Premiere of Ontario george Smitherman's pitch, They didn't buy into the endorsement of Premiere of Ontario Dalton Mcguinty's pitch.

They did buy into the straight talk " Stop the Gravy Train" of  a media disliked Councillor from Etobicoke and liked they did : a new Mayor and 15 new Councillors, one-third of council was replaced in one  shot. Here are the results:

Ford, Rob – Votes: 353,408 Voting percentage: 47.11 Pantalone, Joe – Votes: 88,811 Voting percentage: 11.83 Smitherman, George – Votes: 266,460 Voting percentage: 35.52

Toronto Star,The Globe and Mail,  and  NOW magazine were campaigning  for Mr. Smitherman.Tells you how much they knew or know.

This could be a wake up call for Ontario's Premiere Dalton Mcguinty..Could it be?

Stop giving away the tax payers money or else........................................
In the mean time Good luck to the two Fords : Seen in the picture Flanked by Doug Ford and Rob Ford Toronto based famous film maker and Human Rights Activist Mr. Roger Nair who commented
" No one tells voters what to do, no one but no one is smarter than them..."

A great comment, on account of the voters, that sent a lot of the hopefuls packing; including advice from Toronto Star , Globe an Mail and Now ( what kind of magazine is that anyway..ran a story ," Is Ford the Antichrist?"  ..food for thought)
