A Great Destiny Fulfilled?

The road to fulfilling a great destiny of a nation is paved with ten quintessential elements that must be implemented into that society. With what transpired with the Sub-Prime mortgage crisis of 2008 that almost brought down the United States economy and triggered a global avalanche of economic misery is what one would describe as a nations aversion to fulfill that great destiny. Mankind has witnessed this all through-out history where nations on the verge of fulfilling a great destiny only to fall into an abyss of woe, misery and depravation. It is when individuals who hide behind cloaks of deception and deceit willfully aware of what their devious intentions will do in keeping the majority subversive to their will has only ended in tragedy. Practically every nation in Europe today has been infected with an economic virus like the Plague of the Middle Ages which is engulfing each nation's ability to find a cure and recover.

A pivotal point in history is about to unfold in the United States today. America is still the one nation that other nations look to for support, guidance, and even inspiration. But if the United States stays on it's current path the window of opportunity to fulfill the nations great destiny is rapidly closing. What better time than with the forthcoming Presidential election to put forth ideals and solutions that will enable the US government to support and assist the empowerment of all it's citizens. Unfortunately, standing in the way are current economic conditions in Europe where in Greece, Spain, Italy, England and Portugal their massive government spending cuts are literally chocking off their respective economies. This, despite the trillion-euro bailout all these governments are deeper in debt than ever before. Inflation is running rampant, interest rates are soaring and business failures are at epidemic levels leaving massive unemployment in their wake. It is like the 1930's all over again. If history is any indication what followed was a world at war. Can the United States stem the tide of this coming juggernaut of economic calamity and stave of violent repercussions of economic plight?

To answer that question all one has to look to are the candidates for the highest office, President of the United States. A Republican who is hell bent on slashing government programs that actually support economic growth while at the same time continues to focus on energy of the first and second industrial revolution. This is instead of promoting and initiating energy that would be the fuel for the third industrial revolution. Instead of forward progress in development of renewable affordable abundant green energy the Republicans say one thing about how much governmental intrusion is in the daily life of Americans but actually are supporting corporate and in a back door fashion more government involvement in keeping Americans subservient to existing energy conglomerates which keeps the majority of citizens from actually being able to be self reliant.

While this economic dilemma is playing out in Europe no doubt it is having a real dramatic impact here in the United States. It is like this whole scenario of economic calamity is speeding right toward us like a runaway freight train. Again, we are reminded that within the past 12 years the United States has saddled itself with the greatest debt the world has ever seen. We have since passed a national debt of over $85 trillion. With the continued involvement in Afghanistan, now limited involvement in Iraq, with tensions still mounting in the Persian Gulf we are adding another 1.5 trillion more each year to our existing national debt. With smaller ratio of debts in Europe are already pushing more and more people to suffer the consequences like increasing rates of poverty, and more violent repercussions because of the failure of governments to ease the suffering of so many.

If the Republicans win in November that freight train of economic calamity will surly hit the United States driving millions of American families into the nightmare of poverty, homelessness, and grim dependence on more government bureaucrats. This is exactly what the Republicans say about what the present Administration is now doing. In a worst-case scenario, the United States would experience soaring crime rates more devastating than the Al Capone era in Chicago during Proabition or today's gang violence in Mexico, the confiscation of private property, and even the suspension of most of our civil rights. All because of the failure of government to implement policies and solutions that prevent such a catastrophe from happening in the first place.

That window of opportunity is closing fast but their is still time to ward off disaster if our leaders today really take a good hard look at the choices that have been made that led Europe to the brink of anarchy and chaos and what impact their plight is having on the United States. No doubt America has to get it's own house in order to stave off the grim reaper of economic and financial doom. All it takes is for the present Administration as well as a collective move by the majority of American citizens to realize that the direction this country is headed now will undoubtedly collide with that European freight train of economic calamity if these ten elements fail to be implemented.

Ten quintessential elements that avert pending disaster. Two of the most important elements are mandating that fresh clean drinkable water be a basic right of mankind. The United States is one of the last remaining countries that does not have fresh water as a basic right for all it's citizens. Next is our energy program. Most people are aware that our existing energy grid is so archaic that at any moment millions all over the country could loose power. Not only this, the threat a natural disaster or a terrorist attack is very likely and when it does occur it will cripple the entire country because of this nations lack of foresight in implementing a power grid that is more reliable and can repair itself immediately in the event of any disaster. The Present Administration has done some initiatives toward making The United States power grid more in tune to the 21st century energy needs. But, more immediate attention needs to be done. When it comes to the oil industry with today's escalating gas prices the technology has been around for over 20 years to produce automobiles with hydrogen fuel cells instead of the current and immediate way manufactures are still producing cars and trucks dependent of fossil fuel just so "Big Oil" can keep retaining huge profits every year.

When the Affordable Health Care Act of 2010 was passed failed in many ways to stem the tide of rising medical insurance. What came about was a perception that government is imposing a mandate on the public to either purchase health insurance privately or through employer base insurers or face a financial penalty. All this did was create a firestorm of debate where now the Supreme Court is involved in the constitutionality of such a mandate imposed on the public. Along with this the Affordable Health Care Act only added more of a financial burden on private business at a time when most are in financial difficulties anyway. Instead of creating forward economic expansion the exact opposite occurred. The United States is th last industrialized nation that does not have Universal Health care for all it's citizens. It is time that more Americans realize that our for profit health insurers have and are creating a financial nightmare for the majority of our citizens. it is time to implement Universal Health Care, a single payer plan similar to other industrialized countries health insurance where the government finances but is rum by the medical community. Medicaid and Medicare are riddled with fraud and cost overruns that to continue to support them is most futile and further pushes away any hope of regaining economic growth and stability.

An awful lot of talk recently about our existing tax code where it has become so convoluted and favors the top 1% it is no wonder the country, which by the way is the wealthiest of any country in the world today still, lacks the funding to support programs that actually generate more economic growth like infrastructure development. What is needed is a simplified version where everyone is equal before the law by implementation of a 10% flat tax across the board. When this is implemented there would be no need of a capital gains tax where this one tax stifles more economic expansion. There would be ample revenue coming into the treasury with a 10% flat tax.

Education reform is vital in securing this nations great destiny. For without a nation whose youth are not prepared to keep a society moving forward through the skills and knowledge necessary for the employment opportunities of the 21st century America will be left out in the cold. It is imperative that education from pre-school thru high school prepare our youth with the skills and knowledge necessary to compete in the global economy. Today, at this juncture in time the education venues available for our youth are for the most part failing them as well as the country. Education is all tied relatively to the economic stability of families of our youth. Without financial stability the enormity of loss educational opportunities will only continue.

National Economic Reform lists these five elements as part of the ten articles of confederation. All of which are the cohesive components that will keep the wheel of economic growth spinning forward. For without them being implemented into American society that juggernaut of economic calamity will certainly collide and thrust the United States back down the abyss of lost opportunities where millions more will continue to linger in financial and economic depravation without any hope of being able to climb back out.
