Another tragedy for Greater Vancouver ZooTrained golden eagle chased by crows into lion enclosure is killed in front of zoo visitorsChris Parry, Vancouver SunPublished: Sunday, June 29, 2008METRO VANCOUVER - Staff at the Greater Vancouver Zoo have not had a good year, and that year just got a lot worse.
Still dealing with the tragic death of Jocko the Spider Monkey, and the unsolved theft of his mate, the Aldergrove facility was dealt another blow Friday when a four-year-old trained golden eagle took flight during the raptor show and strayed from the usual course.
An eyewitness, Pablo Su, was at the zoo with his wife, son and daughter, watching the lions when they noticed a commotion.
