..while in Syntrivani Square, adjoining Aristotle University grounds, it was business as usual: a boilerplate standoff between riot squads & rioters in the University had been lasting from early noon until late at night, attended by idle bystanders & bored plainclothes cops. Police would saturate the surrounding residential district with teargas every now & then, presumably for sport or health reasons. Or maybe to discourage nosy reporters from recording a neonazi group throwing stones at the rioters, unmolested by police
