Greek Student Gunman wounds three and attempts Suicide

At the age when they needed to be in playground they are playing with the guns, not toy gun but original. A student shoot at three people in Athens, two of whom are critically injured.The attacker tried to suicide, immediate cause of the attack is not it clear.

A Greek student has shot and injured a fellow student and two passers-by before turning the gun on himself, police say.

Both the teenage gunman and the other student were said to be in a serious condition, while the two passers-by escaped with light injuries.

The shooting happened at a vocational college in a poor district of Athens.

School shootings are rare in Greece and the incident has stunned Greeks.The student, believed to be aged around 19, walked into the college on Friday morning with two pistols. He was said to have been heading for the classrooms, but shot a student who passed him on the staircase.

The gunman then turned to leave the school and was confronted by two older men at the gates. The teenager shot at the two men before running across the road and shooting himself in the head.

"The gunman is in very serious condition with a gunshot wound to the head ... he's about to receive surgery," senior health ministry official Panayiotis Efstathiou told the Associated Press news agency.

"The victim who is seriously injured is 18 or 19 years old. The other two are about 30 and are not seriously hurt."
