The Green Party of America has accused President Elect Barack Obama of pandering to corporations and "warhawks" with the appointments of Rahm Emanuel, his choice of vice president such as Joseph Biden, nomination of Eric Holder for Attorney General, and former Governor of Iowa Vilsack for Agriculture Secretary.
Cliff Thornton who is the spokesperson for the Green Party of the USA accused the emerging Obama Administration of not living to its promise of change. He also revealed the records of each of the nominees. The following was taken from the Green Party USA Press Release.
"Greens called Mr. Obama's choice of Rahm Emanuel for White House Chief of Staff especially unfortunate, citing Mr. Emanuel's position as managing director of investment banks Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, earning him $18 million between 1999 and 2002 and his track record in Congress since 2003. The appointment of Mr. Emanuel confirms Mr. Obama's pledge to AIPAC that he will maintain the same uncritical support for <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />Israel as the Clinton and Bush administrations, whose policies resulted in increasing human rights violations against Palestinians and greater instability in the region. Mr. Emanuel was also one of the original drafters of NAFTA and now favors similar antidemocratic 'free trade' pacts with Colombia, Panama, and South Korea, which would cost more US jobs and suppress environmental and labor protections. Despite his reputation in the media as a defender of working people, Mr. Biden helped draft a law signed by President Bush that relaxed regulations on financial institutions, giving them more power over Americans facing financial problems and transferring risk from predatory lenders to borrowers. As an architect of mandatory minimum drug laws (including the RAVE Act), Sen. Biden helped put the children of working families behind bars. Among the corporate-connected names on the list for the Obama Cabinet are Eric Holder, Jr. for Attorney General and former Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack for Secretary of Agriculture. Mr. Holder is a partner at Covington & Burling, which represents the National Football League, Chiquita, and Merck, and Gov. Vilsack is an enthusiastic advocate of genetically engineered crops and corn- and soy-based biofuels, with ties to Monsanto, whose products and policies have destroyed independent and family farms around the world." I am already making plans to invite the Green Party of America for an interview with Now Public. There is no guarantee that they will reply. I will also check these reports by the Green Party of America and publish them in Now Public.Crowd Power

He has not even entered his new post yet and is all ready forgetting the environment and his Children's Future?

Paschen: It was never a surprise that this would happen. It was for this reason I supported the Libertarians and or the Greens in the US Elections. They were the real change. Unfortunatly, an election that favours Republicans, Democrats, Interest Groups combined with voters caught up with the frenzy whipped up by the two major parties were the deciding factors in this event. There will be investigations into these comments by the Green Party and people will be invited to be interviewed. Thanks again for your comments.

Isn't it a bit early to be accusing Obama of anything?

Thank you for your comments amyjudd. This is the link. It appears that after Obama is elected, Al Qaeda, the Green Party, and some of the defeated politicians want to make accusations. It is for this reason that I will attempt to talk with the Green Party and review the records of the appointees.

I'll be interested to judge Obama's administration based on what it does when he is in office, and see whether his stated environmental policies are enacted.

of course it is the other corporations and warhawks.

True. It is for this reason I am trying to give the Greens an opportunity to present their viewpoints.

What the hell do people expect? He was elected President of the United States not the President of the Kingdon of Never Never Land. These are America's priorities and he has been elected by the same interests that elected all previous Presidents to preserve what they want preserved. Why would anyone think otherwise? Did voters actually buy all that BS about "change". America will get some change, for sure, but not institutional level change. It will be more tinkering than tearing down and rebuilding.

I agree with you. I did not support the Republicans and Democrats because of the desire of institutional change. Regardless, there has to be some institutional change or there will be no USA in the future.
