Greeting fellow Bipeds on Terra Firma - lets get down to earth

This Earth day article is not really about saving the planet, but to wake some people up about the factors of our existence on this beautiful planet we live on.

Consider the factors that we humble human beings are carbon based entities, that have been extracted by process of nature from the planet that we live on. Yes we are made of particles of the very star dust structure that we live and travel on, in its yearly cycle around sol our sun. Life could not exist or been started with out the universes build blocks the atoms.

Things had to be just right for life to start on this planet atoms needed to mix together in the oceans, to create the first living cell.  We life forms are of course all distantly related, yep, it’s not a guess to say we are even related to plants and trees and have evolved into this very complex being, through a long process of evolution geared by a natural law of the survival of the fittest. For a long time we lived close to the earth, we farmed and hunted our distant relatives as a source of energy and to feed the very atoms we are constructed with, of course our bodies create new cells from the atoms we process for our nourishment.

We have learnt to use the minerals metals and chemicals, to blend into useful tools and components to enhance our life style. Each and everything we own, is built and processed from the atoms of this planet. We build houses and many wonderful structures using stone, clay and other minerals even glass is made from silicon abstracted from sand.

We have done wonders with the metals we have mined, even used the sap of trees to make rubber to create the tires, for our magnificent self propelled vehicles made out of metals and plastic. That have also been formulated also from the atoms of this beautiful useful planet we live on. We use source of energy that have been made by millions of years of rotting plants and tree’s, that have created underground reserves of oil, gas and coal.

Unfortunately we have used so much of these fossil fuels, created so much pollution to our atmosphere. That many of our scientists think we have affected the world’s climate and created a greenhouse effect, that is melting the ice at our Worlds North and south poles.
      
Earth day is a yearly event that is held to remind us of the damage we are doing, what we should be doing to stop doing damage to our distant relatives, the plants trees and the all the creatures that are more closely related to us, than the plants.

We are the only intelligent species that can care for this planet, if we overstep on the pollution or destroy an important creatures such as bee’s, by our lack of care, we humans may thus then cause our own extinction.
