Groom Dies on Wedding Day: Karen Taylor Mourns Chris Raynor Death

A groom died on his wedding day after a fatal car crash in Raleigh, North Carolina. Christopher Raynor was heading to breakfast with his groomsmen when he was thrown from his car and killed. Chris Raynor was set to marry girlfriend Karen Taylor at Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Church in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Chris Raynor was in the backseat of his best man's car when they were hit in an intersection by a vehicle that had failed to stop at a red light. A third vehicle then ran over Chris Raynor. Raynor was taken to hospital where he later died. Police are not sure if Raynor was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Instead of a wedding, friends and family of Chris Raynor and Karen Taylor gathered to hold an impromptu memorial service for the groom.

"The (bride) got into the pulpit after the service was over. She was explaining her feelings, and she was very gallant, very brave," Busichio said. "She thanked everyone for coming and said she realized by being there (that) it had strengthened her and her love for him."
