‘Guantanamo’ Wife: Woman Asks For Divorce Over Husband's Phone ID
A woman in Saudi Arabia is filing for divorce after she discovered that her husband has entered her number in his cell phone under 'Guantanamo'. The curious wife looked up the contact list in her husband's cell phone and was appalled not to find her own name in it, when she realized her number was actually listed as 'Guantanamo'. She now plans to divorce from her husband of 17 years over the incident. Alternatively, the woman might seek a financial compensation from her husband.
And, if an 'offensive' caller ID sounds like an unconventional reason for divorce, there is a myriad of other awkward reasons over which people get divorced.
Among 'legitimate' reasons to get a divorce are:
- interference from parents-in-law/ not showing respect for each other's parents (especially in Korea)
- lack of maturity
- snoring too loud (with proof in Canada)
- not wanting to do housework (Italy)
- sleeping in an unacceptable position (Japan)
- finding spouse's inappropriate text messages
- obsession with a Rubik's Cube (US)
- committing an act of vandalism (ex: a British woman who washed her husband's favourite T-shirt with autographs on it)
- stinky feet (Egypt)
