Gubernatorial disrespect – Grandstanding Governor Jan Brewer, Arizona

Grandstanding

Who is Jan Brewer?

By my book, she should not be holding office because she is unqualified. The people from the State of Arizona  had a screw loose when they put her in office. Oh, wait a minute, they did not elect her to office, she got there by procedure. Nonetheless, Arizonians previously elected her to Secretary of State of Arizona. She may have been OK as a secretary but not as “Secretary of the State!”

Now, this old Tea Bag shakes her finger at the President on a tarmac. I would send in Janet Napolitano to take her questions.

Janice Kay "Jan" Brewer (born September 26, 1944) is the 22nd and current Governor of the U.S. state of Arizona and a member of the Republican Party. She is the fourth woman, and third consecutive woman, to hold the office. Brewer previously served as Secretary of State of Arizona, from January 2003 until then-Governor Janet Napolitano resigned after being selected as Secretary of Homeland Security in January 2009. Brewer became Governor of Arizona as part of the line of succession, as determined by the Arizona constitution.

Born in California, Brewer attended Glendale Community College where she received a radiological technologist certificate, but never earned a degree. She has served as a State Senator and State Representative for Arizona, from 1983 to 1996. Brewer also served as Chairman of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, before running for Arizona Secretary of State in 2002.”

“Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, Obama have intense exchange on tarmac

ASSOCIATED PRESS January 26, 2012 5:32AM

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer points at President Barack Obama after he arrived at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, in Mesa, Ariz. Brewer greeted Obama and what she got was a book critique. Of her book. The two leaders engaged in an intense conversation at the base of Air Force One’s steps. Both could be seen smiling, but speaking at the same time. Asked moments later what the conversation was about, Brewer, a Republican, said: "He was a little disturbed about my book." Brewer recently published a book, "Scorpions for Breakfast," something of a memoir that describes her years growing up and defends her signing of Arizona’s controversial law cracking down on illegal immigrants, which Obama opposes. Brewer also handed Obama an envelope with a handwritten invitation for Obama to return to Arizona to meet her for lunch and to join her for a visit to the border. (AP Photo/Haraz N. Ghanbari)

Arizona forgot to take out the garbage.

Perhaps Arizonians as a border State view illegal immigration in a different light than the thrice removed 'open borders Obama' and the kneejerk whatever Obama says or does is gospel Yankeejim's.

Immigration is a complex issue for collaborative government to address. When Congress decides to go to work and to stop grandstanding, maybe we can make progress.

The border State's don't have an issue with immigration. They take issue with illegal migration and the lack of leadership on this file from Obama while he fights and condemns them for their actions to curb illegal migration. Blaming Congress is a non-starter. Congress does not have the Constitutional powers to independently create policy or laws defining immigration. The fault in this matter lies squarely on Obama's shoulders just as it did under GW Bush. Stop blaming Congress for Obama's total lack of leadership.

The Obama administration is doing a much better job with immigration management than the past administration -- far more deportations. We're dealing with 1) a legacy problem and 2) a Congress that needs to put its money where the mouth is.

Obama is playing it "fairly" as that is the theme.

Congress and the President can do much better in immigration management.

Obama has taken the lead in 1) enforcement, 2) fence building, and 3) deploying border security personnel.

"Obama has taken the lead in 1) enforcement, 2) fence building, and 3) deploying border security personnel." LOL. Obama is enlarging the size and scope of government at the tax payers expense rather than creating policy that the State's can use to curb illegal migration with out adding evermore infrastructure and personnel. The State's need enforceable law and a working commitment from Obama. All Obama has done is increase the number of bailers in a sinking boat. The water is still coming in over the bulwarks. And that is the reality the border State's must deal with. While the State's struggle to be fair they must also face down Obama's criticism and threats. THAT IS NOT LEADERSHIP.
