Guinness, Ireland's most famous beer, is celebrating it's 250th anniversary. The founder of the brewery, Arthur Guinness, signed a 9,000-year lease on the brewery at St. James's Gate in Dublin on Sept. 24, 1759 and has called the day Arthur Day and the Irish have been lifting up a pint at 5:59 p.m (17:59) on that day.
At the main brewery in Dublin, artists like Tom Jones and Boyzone frontman Ronan Keating will be performing. In honor of the occasion, artists such as reggae star Sean Paul will play in Lagos, Nigeria, and the Black Eyed Peas will perform in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the Irish Times reported

I don't even know why I know this..a little random...but Guinness does taster tests among its international partners as a QA initiative and years ago now they judged the Nigerian brew to be the best. Something to do with the minerals in the water. It's really odd how those little factoids stick in your memory and these days I can't remember what I had for dinner last night!
