Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's election campaign office in Zahedan was attacked by several gunmen Friday, injuring one child and two other people.

The attack occurred at approximately 7pm local time on Friday — just one day after a bomb in a Shia mosque killed as many as 19 people on Thursday — and just two weeks ahead of the first round of Iran's presidential election.

A Sunni militant group is reported to have claimed responsibility for the attack.

A child and two other people were injured when three men opened fire on the office, which covers the south-east of Iran, state media say.

On Thursday, at least 19 people died in a bomb blast in a Shia mosque in the city, which is predominantly Sunni.
