Google confirmed on Thursday their donation of $1 million towards Haiti relief work following Tuesday's earthquake. Google's donation is aimed at providing food, water, medical supplies, and shelter for rescuers and victims of the 7.0 earthquake. The money will go towards organizations that are part of the ground support teams rescuing people who are still trapped or injured as a result of the Haiti earthquake.

As well as making a monetary donation, Google has also assembled online satellite imagery and mapping tools in order to aid ground support efforts carried out by relief workers. Google Earth will be able to use a satellite view tool of Haiti in order to expand outreach efforts and collect valuable information. This will help rescuers and ground teams in coordinating their responses and evaluating the overall damage of the Haiti earthquake.

As well as a YouTube page where viewers can find direct links to Haiti relief appeals and share video, Google also has a Crisis Response page where people can find links to various charity websites with information on how to donate to Haiti relief work. The website features groups such as Doctors Without Borders, Yele Haiti, Direct Relief, and the Red Cross. 

The Official Google Blog currently features satellite images of Port-au-Prince, Haiti with a side-by-side before and after aerial shot. The Google Crisis Response page currently features UNICEF and CARE as organizations that be donated to. The page also lists other ways of helping and links to charities and also includes a list of texting and SMS options that people can donate through in order to facilitate disaster relief in Haiti.
