The Case of Missing Haleigh Cummings Has Now Officially Been Declared a Homicide
Police no longer think that five-year-old Haleigh Cummings is just missing; they have officially declared her case a homicide on April 15, and authorities say they think the little girl is dead. It is heartbreaking for her family and friends and supporters who want nothing more than to see Haleigh Cummings come home safely.

"At this point, I'm comfortable in saying I'm calling it a homicide," Sheriff Jeff Hardy said.
Sheriff Hardy did say that police have 'one or more persons of interest' in the case, but did not say who that was or if Joe Overstreet was connected to the case in any way after he was questioned on April 14 for the third time.
Police have now ended their search of the St. John's River and they have found no evidence of the little girl in the river. Misty Croslin was seen in handcuffs beside the river with investigators, but it is not known if she was offering them more information or not.
Sheriff Hardy said that 'people are starting to talk' according to CNN, and he stressed that they just want to find some justice for the missing girl.
He later vowed: "I am not going to give up on this little girl and her family."
He seems to think that Misty Croslin has something serious to do with the case as he said that he thinks she has started to realize she is in trouble but he did not say why he had that theory.
Divers did find several items in the river that may be connected to the case, but no more information is being shared at this time.
The case still seems to rest with Misty Croslin, who investigators says holds 'important answers in the case'. She has not been named as a suspect in the case however.

On Nancy Grace a while ago. Haleigh's mother Crystal Sheffield(who now have costody of Haleigh younger brother Ron Jr). She claim before Haleigh father Ron Cumming had costody of her he didnt want anything to do with her. The children had also been taking to the emergancy room with bruises. Haleigh had a black eye. Which her father Ron claim she got hurt on the playground. Ron Jr had bruises on his legs which he admitted hitting the child with the stick. Why would she have come on Nancy Grace and lied about it? I found that interested. Nobody ever found out if the allegations was true. Im not saying I think Ron killed the little girl. Im just saying he could of abuse the kids are not of taking good care of them. It was on Nancy Grace once but nobody believed anything she said at first then it was ignored and forgotten.

Crystal Sheffield left the hell-hole of a home that THE "ohhhhh so loved by NANCY GRACE" RONALD CUMMINGS provided for his children and wife(s). Crystal Sheffield did NOT want to live that trashy kind of life and wanted to better her life and LEFT THAT LIFE in hopes of getting her children out of that kind of life but THIS FACT ESCAPES Nancy SATAN SPAWN Grace.People like Nancy Grace are what is wrong with this world today and I cannot stand that blitch. You, Anon, are proof that Nancy Grace via her show, does, in fact, influence public opinion and that is fine except when YOU ARE AS WRONG AS SHE is as much as she is.It is my greatest desire to see Nancy Grace lose her show. I really hope these people involved come clean soon with the TRUTH if they are eve capable of it. The case is as disturbing as the people that are responsible for the cruelity to this little girl. I want peace for her and for the people in her family that genuinely cared and loved her. Thank God the grandmother has ...the courage to step up and provide information that is helpful to finding this child.

Haleigh has been RIP since the day she was reported missing, she's in the arms of angles, and has been since the day GOD rescued her from the demons that were suppose to have protected her,,,starting from her family & the strangers that they allowed in this child's life to the system who miserably failed this precious baby's welfare & safety!!!!!!!! Haleigh I don't know you, but I've falling in love with you since the day you were mentioned...RIP baby girl!!!

I was always disturbed about the 911 tapes of ronald cummings.His first reaction should have been my child is gone, got out of the house, maybe got lost in woods, but instead he said somebody took my child which usually wouldnt be a first reaction.

Gal, I honesty agree with you, even though im the fan of her. The other day on Nancy Grace at the end of her show she said “god bless Therasa Nevas and Ron Cumming”(whos Haleighs father and fathers mother). Why didnt she mention Crystal Sheffield?? Shes Haleighs mother.

Its true Nancy Grace is irresponsible. She jumps the gun and makes dangerous assumptions before all the facts are revealed. She is rude to her guests and on air correspondents, uses sensationalism and scare tactics to get ratings and exploits the children with her dramatic way. Having said that and getting that off my chest how can Ron Cummings allow Misty Croslin the responsibility of watching his daughter. These poor children can not choose their parents. They are brought into this world with the right to be loved and protected and in this case and many others its like children raising children. I wish I could adopt and provide for all these precious little innocent babies myself. It breaks my heart to think what must go through these children minds when they are being abused and neglected. Raised by drug dealing parents and a biological mom who should have stepped in. I would not have let any one of these characters within 10 ft of my child. Where is child protection service?
