Considering the outcome

of the Gaza war, Hamas

needed much more help

than it got from Iran.

Iran has supported Hamas during and since the 22-day Israeli military operation, which ended more than a week ago after Israeli forces pulled out of Gaza. Tehran held a day of mourning for the Palestinian victims, and protested the Israeli operation.

Hundreds of Hamas people

died and much of Gaza was

destroyed.  Hamas killed 5

Israeli soldiers. Clearly a

Hamas "victory"

"The victory of the people of Gaza was a miracle of God and the Islamic Republic definitely has a share in this victory," Meshaal said after meeting with Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, according to Iran's semi-official Fars News Agency.

Meshaal arrived in Tehran for his first visit to the country since Israel's recent military offensive on Gaza, Iranian media reported. He also met with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki.

Meshaal -- who lives in exile in Syria -- is the head of Hamas, which rules the Palestinian territory of Gaza. Hamas has claimed victory over Israeli forces

.

Unless Hamas cools its rhetoric and

stops firing rockets into Israel Hamas

may have a chance at another such "victory''

U.S. and Israeli officials have accused Iran of providing weapons, training and cash to Hamas militants in Gaza.

Israel said its goal was to stop militants in the territory from firing rockets on southern Israel. But Palestinian militants on Sunday fired 10 rockets and mortar shells into Israel -- in violation of the cease-fire -- slightly wounding two Israeli soldiers and one civilian.

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert promised a "sharp Israeli response" to the ongoing strikes.

The photo and the translations is one of the Zionists propaganda. Palestinians,Muslims & Christians, never claimed they are fighting Jews but rather Zionists and occupation.

Palestinians needs all the help they can get from all peace loving to liberate their country and live in peace. It seems CNN overlooking the basic fact that Israel is the occupation force and Hamas is the freedom fighters of the palestinians.

I understand that view but the fact is Hamas cannot defeat Israel on the battlefield.  Last month proved that. Gaza was set back 10 years, not even counting 1500 dead.

So firing rockets at Israel only invites more death and destruction.

If you mean liberating all of Israel, that will not happen.

If you mean full freedom for Palestine in the West Bank and Gaza, then, yes, I support that.

Hamas is a ruthless terror organization that has killed not only hundereds of Israelis in suicide bus attacks coffehouses and restaurants but also thousands of it Palestinian brothers from Abu Mazans and Arafats Fatah movement.

Iran is in it`s finall stages of building a nuclear bomb and clearly states that it`s mission and purpose of existance as muslim republic is to wipe off the map another country this time being Israel, and after any other country thats not a muslim republic.

now those are facts if you think that writing comments here supporting Iran Hamas and Hizbolla will spare youre lives when they finish with the zionists and jews and come after the christians you are bloody wrong.

The christians in Gaza have been massacerd by hamas there houses burnt to the ground and the church destroyed the christian cemetery in gaza is a hamas training ground and was used by hamas as a qassam launching pad.

Keep supporting Hamas and Iran and soon enough they will come after you !!!

Hamas is far from a nice organization.  They need to give up ''resistance'' and function as a real government.

Well, all I can say is that if the recent fighting is a "victory" for Hamas, even I, a fierce critic of Hamas's rocket-firing policy, would certainly never want to see "defeat" inflicted upon them.......

I agree with that.

One more such ''victory '' like this could be the end of Gaza.

Hamas is far from a terrorist organization like that of the state of Israel who has been terrorizing the palestinians Muslims and Christians alike. As for Orenrosenfeld accusations it istotaly unture,in the case of Hamas killing christians to the point that even Israel wonld not dare say such a thing.

Hamas won a fair and free elections 63% of the votes as attested by International observers. Hamas formed a government of national unity but did not go down well will Israel and the Bush administration plans for their new Midle East  . Israel assisinated and kidnapped more than 40 members of the Palestinians Parlament, and Palestinians Authority president Mr. Mahmoud Abbas was pressurised into forming an illegal government execluding Hamas. Israel and Egypt closed all crossing points sicne 2006 forcing Hamas to accept a deal - stop firing rokets and  Israel will open all crossing points which never happend yet.

Maybe Hamas will not "defeat" Israel with these rockets, but  surely will makeIsrael feel unsafe and would conseder peace plan.

I respectfully disagree.

ANYONE who targets rockets at civilians as Hamas has done is a terrorist. Even if Israel has done worse Hamas is still guilty.

Hamas wone a LEGISLATIVE election, then executed a bloody coup against the legal head of government, killing hundreds of Gazans.

''Maybe Hamas will not "defeat" Israel with these rockets, but  surely will make Israel feel unsafe and would conseder peace plan.''

No, instead it will lead to another war and the result will be worse for Gaza than thge one last month.

The only way Hamas can win is to agree to borders and peace with Israel.
