While the attention of the world was focused on the mindless tragedy in Mumbai, India. A group of Harare Zimbabwe citizens decided to take matters in their own hands against their government. They have decided to sue the government.

The group which is based in Chitungwisa have filed a lawsuit against the Zimbabwe National Water Authority which is run by the government for the lack of safe and potable drinking water. The Lawsuit was filed in the High Court and cites the rise of cholera due to the lack of dilligence on the part of ZNWA [Zimbabwe National Water Authority].

Arthur Taderera of the Chitungwisa Residents and Rate Payers Association also accuses the ZNWA of large pools of raw sewage in the streets. The lawsuit and the accusation comes after another breakdown of talks between ZANU-PF and MDC. It remains to be seen whether the lawsuit can take off in a country where the law is almost nonexistent.
