I would not be surprised to see numbers like that in a third world country. How conservatives can close their eyes for this issue?  This system is killing nearly 45,000 Americans each year. America cannot remain in state of denial, a big change is needed. Our health care system is costly and inefficient.

Nearly 45,000 Americans die each year due to a lack of health insurance, according to a study published on Thursday in the online edition of the American Journal of Public Health.

The study by Harvard University researchers found that uninsured, working-age Americans have a 40 percent higher risk of death than their privately insured counterparts, up from 25 percent in 1993

Oh my.

If a "study" done on the effects of tobacco were funded by the tobacco industry, would anyone pay attention to it?  So, please, someone tell me why anybody should ascribe to these "statistics"?
