This story just gets more amazing by the day. Yesterday the operating theory for the mansion blaze in Shropshire, UK was that the millionaire who owns it may have killed his family before torching his mansion, and then barricading himself inside to die in the flames. Now, police are saying he actually may have fled to a secret home in continental Europe.

The tycoon at the centre of a mansion blaze mystery may have fled to a secret home in Europe, it was claimed today.

Christopher Foster was "not a nice man" and has probably fled in fear of his luxury home being repossessed, a former associate said.

There were also suggestions that Foster had been drunk at an all-day barbecue just hours before the fire at his country estate in Shropshire.

Foster, his wife Jill and their daughter Kirstie have not been seen since the devastating blaze in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Police had been hoping to enter the ruined £1.2million property in Oswestry, Shropshire, but had to delay the operation.
