Yep, Playground Politics over who said what, certainly shows one trying to top the other on issues, then secretly informing their Largest trading partner "They were just kidding" for the benefit of the American Voter.

Desperate times, for Desperate measures when the prize is a Big comfy Chair at the WHite House.

WASHINGTON -- The Canadian Embassy in Washington has dismissed a report someone with Barack Obama's campaign called Ambassador Michael Wilson to say U.S. election rhetoric against NAFTA isn't serious.

Obama also denied it yesterday, telling reporters aboard his campaign plane: "It wasn't true."

CTV News cited two unnamed Canadian sources Wednesday in saying an Obama staff member called Wilson to warn him there would be anti-NAFTA statements but they shouldn't be taken at face value.

"At no time has any member of a presidential campaign called the Canadian ambassador or any official at the embassy to discuss NAFTA," the embassy said in a statement yesterday.

But Wendy Freeman, vice-president of CTV News, said: "The facts of the story are accurate and CTV National News will be reporting on the story again."
