Man Charged for Suffocating Stepdaughter for Crying During World Cup Match

Hector Castro was arrested and charged with murder after allegedly killing his stepdaughter. According to police, Castro strangled his 2-year-old stepdaughter because she would not stop crying during the USA-Ghana World Cup match on June 26.

In order to make the death seem accidental, Castro then stuck a screw down the child's throat. Four other children live in Castro's McAllen, Texas apartment.

Due to the age of the  victim, Castro could face the death penalty if convicted.

“There are no words for this,” said Rodriguez. “It makes you want to think about doing lots of things to this guy, but he will face the criminal justice system just like everybody else.”

Castro, an illegal immigrant, gave investigators a confession that implicated himself in the girl’s death, Rodriguez said.

Gee, does the Arizona law seem so inappropriate now?
