Our obsession with things almost too horrible to contemplate rises to the surface with cases like this. When the notorious UK serial killer Fred West was jailed the only way forward was to demolish his 'house of hell' maybe that's what's got to happen with Frizl's.
GHOULISH tourists are piling into the Austrian town of Amstetten to see incest monster Josef Fritzl’s dungeon house.
Police have been forced to keep two officers permanently guarding the property because of huge interest from the sick sightseers.
Fritzl, 73, used his cellar to lock away daughter Elisabeth, 42, for 24 years and father seven children with her.
His crimes have sickened Austria, but they have not stopped people wanting to take a look at the house.

I don't think I would like to see this house. What a morbid tourist outing that would be.

I think Joseph Fritzl's house should be torn down and an exact replica (with musty smells and all) built somewhere for people around the world to see. This is a very important case not only because it is unique but because it addresses the issues of ingenuity and human survival which are of universal interest. People who want to see this house aren't necessarily being ghoulish. Many may instead just want to share if only briefly in the incredible suffering of a fellow human being and her children.
