A fund raising initiative has been launched to help pets abandoned by owners of Brooklyn foreclosure homes for sale. According to data, almost 1 million pets were affected by the foreclosure crisis.

Some of the unsuspecting victims of the growing number of Brooklyn foreclosure homes for sale are the pets. Often, they are left behind by homeowners when their properties are foreclosed.

But hope is given to these needy animals under the fund raising event, Brooklyn Bridge Pup Crawl. The event aims to raise funds to provide food and shelter to pets that lost their homes because of foreclosures.

According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), almost 1 million pets were abandoned by their owners following a foreclosure. The fund raising event involves the parade of pets from Manhattan across Brooklyn to call attention to the condition of these needy animals who were unknowing victims of the increasing Brooklyn foreclosure homes for sale.
