Here’s another fine mess
This time, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton tipped the scales in favor of joining the international coalition to impose a “no-fly” zone in Libya that appears to be a “no move” zone by Gadahfi’s troops or someone from the coalition in the sky with mobile command and control will blast you out of your tanks. Her empathy leaned toward the rebels about which we know little because she and Bill felt badly about leaving Rwandans in the lurch. Is that clear?
In addition, this is a change of command ceremony as Hillary will soon assume command of the Department of Defense replacing Robert Gates who will one day become a commentator of few words in six months after leaving office.
Now, back to the war.
Rebels are communicating with American advisers behind the scene who are telling them to “stay put” until 1) the way is clear, 2) you have been equipped, and 3) you have a coordinated game plan as allies soften up the target big time.
Detailers from the intelligence community are getting a handle on who is al Qaeda and who are not. This is not a democratic inspired rebellion yet, but if that spin can be inserted greater payoff will come to the rebels who will become democrats in training.
In the end, Mrs. Clinton, who is chatting with rebels will say, “Hey fella’s, you are going to pay for this with your own oil money, so get savvy.”
“Pentagon: Air Strikes in Libya Effective Against Gadhafi's Forces
The U.S military said Sunday that the first airstrikes to enforce a U.N.-authorized no-fly zone over Libya have been effective. A top military officer in Washington told reporters that the United States and coalition forces would continue to target Libyan military positions, but not the residence of leader Moammar Gadhafi.
Navy Vice Admiral William Gortney said the U.S.-led military operation to enforce the no-fly zone has been successful. At a Pentagon news briefing, he said the air campaign had significantly degraded Libya's air defense capability.
Gortney said the allied coalition has also targeted government forces near the eastern city of Benghazi. " If [Libyan government forces] are moving and advancing onto the opposition forces in Libya, yes we will take them under attack," he said.
Gortney said the military action is aimed at protecting Libyan civilians from attacks by forces loyal to Moammar Gadhafi, who are trying to put down a month-long uprising against the Libyan leader's 42-year rule.
Admiral Gortney told reporters that coalition forces would not target Mr. Gadhafi's home in Tripoli. But Western warplanes did bomb the outskirts of the Libyan capital on Sunday, drawing anti-aircraft fire from government forces.
The Pentagon says the no-fly zone covers a third of Libya and will be patrolled 24 hours a day. Despite reports that Mr. Gadhafi has called for an immediate cease-fire, U.S. military officials say their operations will continue. Several other nations, including Britain, France Canada Italy, Belgium, Denmark and Qatar are expected to take part in military missions to enforce the no-fly zone.”
Oh, by the way, that boom you heard was meant for you, Moammar. Can’t believe all that hear in the news.

Oh yes...
Now, Obama awoke today to discover that the rebels need more assistance than overhead cover. Moammar has dug in and can wait this out. His troops are burrowed into the "loyal" population. One hit in that direction will spew dead Arabs all over the place and the Arab League will have a change of heart.
Let's see, U. S. military advisors say hard right rudder; send the Afghanistan supply chain to Libya where we have a new sand box and toy soldiers to mess with. Maybe Libya is the distraction for retraction and extraction. We're going home.
