Egypt aired its grievances against Iran, the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas and the Lebanese Shi'ite group Hezbollah, saying they worked together in the fighting over Gaza to provoke conflict in the Middle East.

"[They tried] to turn the region to confrontation in the interest of Iran, which is trying to use its cards to escape Western pressure...on the nuclear file," Egypt's Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit said in an interview with Orbit satellite channel, broadcast on Wednesday.

Aboul Gheit also said that Egypt undermined Qatar's attempts to arrange a formal Arab summit on Gaza earlier this month, arguing that it would have damaged "joint Arab action."

This is no doubt this is true.

Iran arms both groups and

all three have stated they will

exterminate Israel.

Diplomats say Egypt resents the Qatari challenge to its traditional role as leading Arab mediator and dislikes the influence of the satellite television channel Al Jazeera, which is based in Doha and is owned by the Qatari government.

"Some people imagined that a satellite channel could bring down the Egyptian state, without realizing that Egypt is much stronger than that," Aboul Gheit said.

"Egypt is very big and has extensive influence despite attempts to influence this stance and role, whether in the Al Jazeera channel or other channels," he added.

The Egyptian minister also criticized Hamas for what he called its coup against the forces of the Palestinian Authority in the Gaza Strip in 2007.

As I said there is no doubt.  The president of Iran has admitted it.

Ahmadinejad: Iran will support Hamas until collapse of Israel  <!-- --------------- Display Advertisement if Exists --------------------- --> Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad vowed Friday to keep supporting the Palestinian militant group Hamas until the "collapse of Israel."

The Iranian news agency Khabar quoted Ahmadinejad as telling Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh that Iran views the support of the Palestinian people as part of its religious and national duty and that Iran will stand behind the Palestinian nation "until the big victory feast which is the collapse of the Zionist regime."

Unless if course he is lying.

Or if you don't believe Haaretz.

Tehran - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad vowed Friday to keep supporting the Palestinian militant group Hamas until the collapse of Israel. The news network Khabar quoted Ahmadinejad as saying in a phone conversation with Hamas leader and deposed Palestinian prime minister Ismail Haniya that Iran considered supporting the Palestinians its religious and national duty and would stay beside the Palestinian nation "until the big victory feast which is collapse of the Zionistregime."

I agree.  Egypt is one of the few Arab countries that really wants peace with Israel.

Egypt, your revered star witness, is a country with no democracy and institutionalized torture, a basket case in human rights. Hardly a star witness.

Egypt is a republic with Islam as the state religion. The National Democratic Party (NDP) has governed since its establishment in 1978. The NDP continues to dominate national politics and has maintained an overriding majority in the popularly elected People's Assembly and the partially elected Shura (Consultative) Council. In 1999, President Hosni Mubarak was reelected unopposed to a fourth 6-year term in a national referendum.

Why do you insist on cultivating paranoid schizophrenic pathology with zero basis in history? It is Israel that is the aggressor in all cases. There is not one documented war that Iran or Lebanon or Palestine has started with Israel. There is not one documented major military action carried out by Palestine, Lebanon or Iran on the land of Israel with tanks and fighter jets, blackhawk helicopter and the war weapons that really matter and lay waste to a people. There is not one instance of Lebanon, Palestine or Iran blockading Israel's borders, seiging Israel and not allowing its citizens to travel out of the country for whatever reason, medical, education, business, or blockading goods and services, electricity and water from the people of Israel.

However Israel has massacred and committed mass murder and wreaked havoc in both Lebanon and Palestine on many occassions, which would lead a simple and healthy minded person to see Israel as the only candidate for the terms you apply to the Lebanese, the Palestinians and the Iranians.

I have presented the Hamas side also.  And the Israeli one also.

Talk to the author.  I did not write it.

''There is not one documented war that Iran or Lebanon or Palestine has started with Israel''Right, half right, wrong.

Iran did not, yet,

Lebanon did not but Hizb'allah using Lebanon territory did.

Hamas did, last month.

Your comment only proves the stupidity of Hamas leaders. They start a war they know they will lose and they caused 1500 Gazans to die.
